Cavalry Memorial
Designed by Adrian Jones the cavalry memorial originally stood in Stanhope Gate off Park Lane from 1924.
In 1961 it was relocated to this current position on the South East side of Hyde Park. The statue is St George the dragon slayer.
The statue is made from bronze which was recycled from captured enemy guns.

The inscription reads:
ERECTED
by the
CAVALRY of the EMPIRE
in memory of
COMRADES
who gave their lives
in the war
1914 1919
also
in the war
1939 1945
AND ON ACTIVE SERVICE THEREAFTER
