According to legend, if ever less than 6 Ravens were at the Tower of London then the Tower and the whole of Britain would fall. This is where the Ravens live (called the Ravens Lodgings), the cage area is between Wakefield Tower and the White Tower. Each Raven has a  single wing clipped to prevent them flying off. This is done by the Raven master, a beefeater who is charge of the welfare of the Ravens.
