Hotel Overview:Newly as a total purpose built hotel in January 2014. A modern hotel with classic style rooms. Just 40 yards from the north terminal check-inn desks. The Hampton by Hilton Gatwick North Terminal is a high end budget hotel and in–between a 4 star and a 3 star type hotel (a notch above Premier Inn).
As standard all guest rooms come with free internet access, sound proofing and air–conditioning. The amenities include a tub chair, 32 inch flat screen television, alarm clock/radio, writing desk, lap desk, tea and coffee making facilities, iron/ironing board, laptop–sized safe. The bathrooms have a walk–inn power shower, hairdryer, supplied toiletries, fluffy towels (some rooms come with a bath). Beds have a duvet. Real detail has gone into the accessibility of the hotel and each room has a Braille number.

The Hampton brand is all about value for money and as such breakfast is complimentary. A choice of self service hot and cold breakfast options, tea, coffee, fruit juice. Tea and coffee can be taken any time in the hotels lobby. If you don't have time to enjoy breakfast in the hotel then a free On–the–Run breakfast is available weekdays. A snack area provides light meals and drinks 24/7.
A meeting room for up to 16 people is available. The Hampton Gatwick has its own fitness centre with the latest exercise equipment which is free for hotel guests.

Hotel vicinity:Fantastically placed hotel for a budget hotel. While several airports have 4.5 star hotels directly connected to a terminal the Hampton by Hilton Gatwick breaks new ground in the budget sector. First for a 3 star hotel connected to a London airport terminal. Directly attached to the north terminal building but only 5 minutes by the complimentary shuttle bus from the south terminal You can also reach the south terminal via the free monorail that runs between the two terminals every few minutes. While the comprehensive facilities of the airport are on hand you are also close to the amenities of Horley of the larger town of Crawley. Within the airport grounds is a petrol station selling a range of groceries and a drive thru MacDonald's restaurant. Within less than a mile in Hookwood is a large Tesco supermarket. Wakehurst Palace Botanical gardens is just over 7 miles away in Haywards Heath. Three major racecourses are within 16 miles at Lingfield Park, Epsom and Sandown.

Comment: On October 19th 2010 Shiva Hotels signed an agreement with Gatwick Airport to convert the offices in Longbridge House adjacent to the North Terminal into a Hampton by Hilton Hotel. The hotel is was originally due to open by summer 2012 but actually opened in January 2014. Work on the construction began in 2011 adding extra floors to the former office building.
