Introduction:
The Zetter Hotel is located between
Holborn and the City of London (square mile, financial district)
in Clerkenwell (an up and coming area in terms of being
fashionable) on the corner of Clerkenwell Road and St Johns
Square. Close enough to the heart of the
West End for the
journey to take a few
minutes by taxi while also giving good access to the City itself
and out to places like the Docklands and City Airport. The
nearby Farringdon Station gives access by train to both Gatwick
and Luton airports. Nearest attractions include
Museum of London
(0.5 miles), Saddlers Wells
Theatre (0.5 miles),
Barbican centre (0.5 miles),
St Paul's
Cathedral (0.7 miles),
Sir John Soames Museum (0.7 miles) and
the
Millennium
Bridge (0.8 miles). The South bank is where you will find places
like the Royal Festival Hall and
Shakespeare's Globe theatre
and is just 1 mile away
on the South side of the River Thames (nearest crossing point is Blackfriars
Bridge).
Hotel:
The Zetter Hotel is contemporary hip/boutique style with a relaxed feel and is run
independently. The building is constructed from a 1800's warehouse and the hotel
has kept many of the original features whilst being designed to adhere to environmentally sustainable principles.
Opened on the 15th March 2004 and was the vision of Michael Benyan and Mark Sainsbury, two men had a background in the restaurant business.
They placed the hotels restaurant on the ground floor and made it the focal
point in order to serve both the local residents as well as guests from further
a field.
Bedrooms are accessed by a striking spiral staircase and by the hotel lift which
lead to the stunning five floor Atrium and the hotel bedrooms.
Each bedroom is individually designed with classic and designer furniture with
modern artwork and decor. Amenities include direct dial telephone with
voicemail, CD and DVD player, high speed
internet access, interactive flat screen cable television
(with internet browser, movies on demand, 4000 free music tracks), hot water
bottle, safe, books, air conditioning, duck down pillows
and duvets, sash windows that open and mist free mirrors. Rooms are en-suite
where facilities include a walk-in shower with rain dance shower head and
supplied toiletries. Top
floor studios have a 32 inch flat screen TV, kettle, minibar, patio,
full height windows and city views.

hours.
Dining:
Onsite is the bustling Zetter Restaurant and Bar: With a capacity for ninety guests, here
you will find a modern Mediterranean based seasonal menu using fresh
ingredients. The accompanying wine list is extensive and includes many fine
wines from around the world. Open all the day the restaurant serves the likes of
coffee and pastries in the morning and full meals or light snacks during the
day. Open Monday to Sunday.
Bistrot Bruno Loubet: Opening February 2009.
The bar is fully licensed and serves a full range of drinks, including
cocktails. Here the features include a long marble bar and large sash windows
and during appropriate weather places tables outside on the cobble stoned St
Johns Square for guests to sit and enjoy their drink.
The Zetter Hotel also two private meeting/function/party rooms that can accommodate up
to eighty guests cocktail style. These rooms are each air-conditioned and have
the latest facilities.
The hotel has vending machines on 4 floors where you can purchase anything from
toothpaste to Champagne to cameras. There is also a coffee machine on every
floor with different types of coffee including expresso and cappuccino. Public areas have a WiFi internet
connection.
