Actually on the A23 which is the main dual carriageway between The airport and central London. Although close to airport the hotel is not on the regular flight path. Horley is a rapidly growing residential town in Surrey. The area has a few local amenities such as the The Farmhouse Tavern Pub Restaurant just 200 yards to the east from the hotel. Over the road is a petrol station where you can but some grocery items. The nearest attractions are the small but busy Archway Theatre (0.8 miles), Reigate Priory Museum (4.2 miles) and Crawley Leisure Park (4.3 miles). Large Tesco supermarket just over 1 mile away. The local station at Horley is around half 45 minutes journey time from central London.
The Menzies Chequers Gatwick building itself has a long history dating right back to the 1500's when it was a Coaching Inn during the Tudor period, serving travellers all that time ago. Much of the original features and style are still retained such as the Oak Beams. The hotel is decorated in a traditional style.
