Introduction: The Travelodge Heathrow Central is on the
Bath Road where most of the major Heathrow Hotels are located. Its actually to
the far east of the airport grounds making it around 2 miles from terminals 1,2
and 3 in the central area and terminals 4 and 5 in the south east/west corner of the airport
grounds. The local area is called Creanford and there is a betters election of
restaurants and shops at this end of the Bath road especially along the Great
West Road. This location is actually pretty handy for west London/Central London
as it right on the A4 London side of the airport. A normal journey by car/taxi
into west London takes around 20 minutes and 30-40 minutes for central areas.
Just 150 yards along the Bath Road is the
Jolly
Waggoner Bar (DJ nights even WiFi access) should you fancy enjoying a drink
in a traditional English Pub. Just under half a mile finds the nearest McDonalds
Restaurant which is at the junction with the Great West Road which is the start
of a selection of high street shops and amenities. Just over a mile in the other
direction but still on the Bath Road in the
Heathrow Bowling Alley which handily includes another McDonalds restaurant.
2 miles to the south east is Hounslow town centre which includes the Treaty
shopping centre with over 45 retail stores. Just before Hounslow town centre at
1.5 miles from the hotel is Lampton Park, a large park with a nature area,
tennis courts, crazy golf, a Peace Garden and a children's play area. Other
nearby places of interest include Osterley Park House (300 acres of grounds and
a 16th century house with art collection)(2.5 miles), Stocklely Park Business
Park (2.9 miles), Syon House and Park (The London home of the Duke of
Northumberland)(3.8 miles), York House and Gardens (17th century mansion and
Gardens)(4 miles), Kempton Racecourse (4.2 miles) and Orleans House
Gallery/Richmond Art Gallery (4.3 miles).
