Introduction: The Stanwell Hotel Heathrow sits on the
south side of the airport closest to Terminal 5 (1.3 miles) and its not much further to terminal
4 (1.5 miles). The area is called Stanwell Village and the Hotel has views over
the surrounding parkland and 13th century St Marys Church. Stanwell village has a long history and
is the site for
two large reservoirs. In the area surrounding the Stanwell Hotel Heathrow are
some large open green spaces and some local pubs. The hotel is also close to the
M25 (1.4 miles from junction 14) which is the orbital motorway around London
giving access to all parts of London and to other motorways including the M3,
M23, M20, M11, M1 and M4. 2 miles to the south is the
town centre of Staines with shopping amenities such as the Elmsleigh centre
covered shopping mall on the High Street and places of interest such as the Old
Town Hall Arts Centre and the Spelthorne Museum. For something a little more
sporting you could try the
bowling centres at the Bath Road (2.8 miles) and on Browells Lane in Feltham
(3.4 miles). The business park of Stockley park is just over 4 miles to the
north while the major attraction of
Windsor
Castle is just 5.7 miles to the West along with Windsor Great Park and
Saville Gardens.
Thorpe Park
(theme park) is 3.5 miles to the south and
Legoland is 7
miles to the west.
Hotel:
The Stanwell Hotel Heathrow is a Victorian style house located within its own
landscaped gardens (1 acre). A modern hotel with a period charm and elegance and
boutique style. Pet friendly policy (please cheek directly with hotel).
All rooms are individually decorated in a contemporary style.
The Victorian Rooms are located in the main house and retain some original
features. The rooms are decorated in warm fabrics and either look out over
parkland and Stanwell church or out over the private courtyard garden.
The Stable Rooms are located within an area that was once the original stables.
There are attic rooms, with slopping ceilings, and there are ground floor rooms
with their own private front doors opening into a small garden area.
The rooms added in 2009 are connected to the main house through the glass
atrium. Here the ground floor rooms have French doors to gardens, the first
floor rooms have balconies, and the top floor rooms have wonderful views.
Each bedroom has a laptop size safe, work desk, complimentary WiFi, windows that
open, heating, direct dial telephone, multi channel television, hairdryer and
hospitality tray. Each room has either a shower or bath and shower.
Classic Double rooms are on the upper floors with park views which look
over the village green. 12 square meters.
Deluxe Double bedrooms are larger than the Classic Double bedrooms and
have the larger 5ft beds. These bedrooms are on the ground, first and second
floors with views over the hotel gardens. The ground floor Deluxe Doubles have
their own external entrance. 15 square meters.
Executive King or Twin bedrooms are larger than the Deluxe Double rooms
and have 6ft beds which can be configured as one large King size bed or 2 twin
beds. These rooms are on the ground and first floors with big French windows
opening onto the hotel gardens. Rooms with balcony's are available on the first
floor. 16 square meters.
The Stanwell Suite consists of 3 rooms, a main bedroom, a lounge with
sofa bed and a third room with a fold down bed and 2 bathrooms with shower.
Accessible bedrooms and Twin bedrooms are also available
Dining:
Onsite is the airy Zamora restaurant. Here the menu is 'Eclectic European'
serving a la carte dishes. The restaurant features floor to ceiling French
windows with views of the hotel gardens and patio where al fresco dining is
available. Favourite dishes here include Crab Pancake, homemade Pate and a Tapas
menu.
There is also a garden lounge and bar (The Atrium bar) which serves morning
coffee and light snacks
along with the range of drinks (food served 10.00 till 22.00). Also serves
traditional afternoon tea with home made shortbread. With an open fire
where guests can enjoy a coffee. A terrace with views over the gardens is
adjacent. Sunday roasts served from 12 noon to 15.00 on Sundays.
Meeting or private dining is available in two conference suites with capacities
for up to 50 guests.
Shuttle: None. Hotel has preferential rates for its
guests with a local taxi company.
