Introduction: You will find the Travelodge Euston is
located right opposite Euston Station. This is one of the 5 main railway
stations in London and provides routes covering all over the country. The
International Eurostar terminal of St Pancras is only 1/3rd of a mile from here.
Yards from the hotel is the A501 Euston Road. This is a major road running
across the northern border of central London. It actually makes up part of the
boundary of the
London congestion charge though the charge only starts once you cross it to
the opposite side of the hotel. The area immediately surrounding the hotel
offers little in the way of glamour or upmarket shopping but there are shops and
bars in the area. However its not far to several popular areas. Tottenham Court
Road is 0.4 miles to the south west, it actually runs off from Euston Road. The
road itself leads down to the west end with
Soho at its southern
end. Tottenham Court Road is best known for the electrical retailers who
populate this area and a bargain is always to be head if you haggle.
Regents Park is 0.6
miles to the west and offers large open grassed areas, an open air theatre and
is home to the popular attraction of London Zoo. 0.6 miles to the north is
Camden High Street. The road is lined with boutique style shops, fast food
restaurants and bars. It leads up to
Camden
Market which is at its busiest on Sundays and where bargain jewellery and
trendy but out-of the ordinary fashion items can be found. Other nearby
attractions and places of interest include the History of Medicine Gallery (0.2
miles), British Library (0.2 miles),
Petrie Egyptian Archaeology Museum (0.3 miles), Pollocks Toy Museum (0.6
miles) and the
British
Museum (0.7 miles).
