Introduction: The London Marriott Maida Vale is located
on the A5 (also known as the Edgware Road) in the section called
Maida Vale at the southern
end of Kilburn High Road. The A5 is one of the UK's longest straight roads and
actually leads all the way to North Wales. Going south from this point its a 2
mile straight line along the A5 to Marble Arch (10 minutes by taxi), which marks
the start of central London and the West End. Kilburn High Road is actually a
very busy and popular shopping street with a large selection of shops,
restaurants and other amenities such as a theatre. A culturally diverse area
with a large Irish population. Maida Vale to the south west is a residential
area noted for regents canal that runs through giving it the name locally of
'Little Venice'. To the South West is the affluent area of
St Johns Wood with a
large American population thanks to the American School that is located within
the area. Just to the East is West Hampstead which again has some excellent
shopping along with some bars and a main line railway station. Just past West
Hampstead going east finds Finchley Road which is a major shopping area and
venue. Here are not just shops and bars but large supermarkets and a cinema and
entertainment complex known as the O2 centre. A few minutes from the hotel is
Kilburn Park and Maida Vale tube stations from where you can take the local
service to Paddington station, from where you can take take the
Heathrow Express. Other local attractions include
Abbey
Road Studios (home of the Beatles) (0.6 miles),
MCC Museum
and Lords Cricket ground (0.9 miles), Freud Museum (1 mile), Church Street
Market (1.2 miles),
Regents Park
and
London Z00
(1.5 miles). Wembley Stadium is just 4.3 miles (6.9 km) from here and is easily
accessed using the nearby A406 North Circular Road from where the stadium is
signposted.
Hotel:
The Marriott Maida Vale is a modern and contemporary styled hotel. The hotel has
long been sued by many famous musicians thanks to its proximity to the Abbey
Road Recording Studios and Wembley Arena. The hotel features a Wall of Fame with
signed photos of its many famous residents.
The bedrooms have air conditioning and individual climate control, dedicated
work area, high speed internet access, direct dial telephone with voice mail,
in-room safe, flat screen TV with pay per view movies, tea and coffee facilities,
alarm clock, trouser press and iron with ironing board. Rooms are en-suite (with
hairdryer, bath and shower). Beds have duvets. Windows are soundproofed.
Views vary but some look out over the inner courtyard and garden which features
a fountain.
Room configurations include suites with one, two or three bedrooms. They also
have separate living area and kitchenette facilities. Among the facilities for
cooking are of course a conventional oven as a well as a microwave and cooking
utensils.
Executive rooms come with access to the executive lounge which serves
complimentary beverages and snacks.

Dining:
The hotel has a choice of two areas where you can grab a bite to eat.
Bar Hemia: A pleasant contemporary Bar which serves a wide ranging
international menu. This includes breakfast, mid morning snacks, light lunches
and evening dinner. The bar is fully licensed and drinks includes a range of
cocktails. There is also a terraced seating area to enjoy sunnier days.
Fratelli's restaurant: Serves traditional Italian food including pizzas baked in
the hotel's very own brick oven. Features a split level design and open theatre
kitchen. Open for
breakfast and dinner.
Additional services include onsite laundry, valet dry cleaning, beauty salon and
shoe shine. Wheelchairs are available if needed.
The front reception remains staffed throughout the night and offers safety
deposit box facilities.
