Around the Area: The Sanctum Apartments sits on the
border between Kilburn and Maida Vale. This part of Kilburn is often referred to
as West Hampstead (there is actually a tube station with that name) as it sits
to the west of Hampstead itself which is a very chic, popular and exclusive
area. Being at the south end of Kilburn this area is also sometimes called Maida
Vale, especially in the marketing by commercial properties in the area as Maida
Vale also is far more upmarket than Kilburn. However there's nothing wrong with
Kilburn, indeed transport links here are great with no less than 10 stations
within 1 mile of the Sanctum Apartments. Kilburn also has a long busy and
popular High Street which stretches for a mile from the apartments northwards.
The apartments are actually on the corner of Greville Road and Kilburn High Road
which is part of the A5, a long major road linking Marble Arch (15 minutes
drive) in central London with Bangor in north Wales. Although the area is
slightly out from central London and the main tourist areas there's still plenty
to see and do in the local vicinity. Abbey Road Studios where the Beatles made
their hits is just over half a mile away. The O2 centre which is an
entertainment complex is less than a mile away on the Finchley Road which itself
is a long busy High Street shopping area. Also within a mile is Lords Cricket
Ground and the Freud Museum.
