Introduction: Just over 300 yards from the banks of the
River Thames is this purpose built hotel, the Travelodge London Southwark. This
is the southern side of the River Thames. Its actually a handy little section of
London as its sited with in a 90 degree curve of the Thames making all the major
bridges easily accessible for all central parts of London, including the city of
London. The financial areas of London (square mile) are actually directly north
of the hotel just over either Blackfriars Bridge of Southwark Bridge, for the
west end take either waterloo bridge or Westminster bridge. Half a mile south of
the hotel is the very busy and bustling area of Elephant and Castle which
includes a shopping centre. Actually a major road intersection the surrounding
areas have become known by the same name. Even closer at 0.3 miles to the east
is Borough High Street which is a busy high street with plenty of shops and
amenities. Just to the north is the
Tate Modern
art gallery (0.2 miles),
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (0.3 miles) and the
Millennium Bridge which is actually a pedestrian walkway over the Thames
built to commemorate the year 2000. There are many places of interest in the
