Introduction: The Hotel Verta is right next to the London
Heliport on the south side of the River Thames right next to the River itself.
This location is some 3 miles from the main tourist areas around London West End
while the nearest area with good amenities would be around Clapham, just over 1
mile way to the south. Battersea itself does have a range of amenities with High
Street shopping to be found around Battersea Park Road and many night clubs,
pubs and restaurants. However the very immediate area surrounding the hotel is
somewhat lacking if your looking for a plenty of variety in amenities very close
by. There are 3 major parks within 1 miles, these are Battersea Park
(incorporated the Festival gardens), Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common. The
Battersea Arts Centre is 0.8 miles away and is a major theatre venue known for
its innovative, accessible and high quality arts activities. With 2 major
bridges within 0.8 miles (Wandsworth Bridge and Battersea Bridge) access to the
north side of the River is excellent.
