Introduction: The Sumner Hotel
London is located just on the northern side of
Marble Arch and of central London itself. This section of Upper
Berkeley Street is just a few yards from Edgware Road. This section
of the W1 area is very popular with visitors from the middle east,
many of whom have their own residences in this area and the
adjoining Bayswater. While the area caters to all visitors there are
a large number of restaurants and shops that are geared for the
middle eastern tourist. Just 250 yards south of the hotel is
Oxford Street
which starts at Marble Arch and runs all the way down to Tottenham
Court Road, a distance of some 1.5 miles. All along the road are a
host of stories, boutiques, stalls, bars and restaurants giving it
the highest densities of shops within Europe. One of the best places
for souvenir hunters with many shops dedicated to such items. The
main nightlife and theatreland is south of here and is found from
Oxford Circus and onwards, a distance of just under a mile. The
Sumner's location is handy if you are planning to access north

is less than half a mile north of the hotel. One of the best things
going for Marble Arch is its location adjacent to
Hyde Park. A
terrific place for all ages and where its easy to spend a whole day.

boats during good weather and the the
Serpentine gallery. Just the other side of Marble Arch is the
affluent and exclusive area of Mayfair. This is where you will find
the highest densities of 5 star hotels in the world. In terms of
public transport then this is no problem, Marble Arch is one of the
main routes for through traffic in London and apart form the tube
station is used a bus rout for a number of buses and on the adjacent
Park Lane is the bus stops for most of the sightseeing buses. Other
local places of interest include the site of the Odeon marble Arch
(multiplex with cafes) (0.1 miles), Tyburn Hanging Tree (signified
by a plaque in the pavement on the junction of Edgware Road and
Marble Arch) (0.2 miles),
