45 Park Lane Hotel

Introduction: On one of London's prime locations is the 45 Park Lane Hotel. Within Mayfair which is home to the largest collection of 5 star hotels anywhere in the world in such a small area. The hotel is opposite Hyde Park which offers large open spaces, landscaped gardens along with activities such as tennis, horse riding and boating. Park Lane itself is a busy main road leading down to the major junction at Hyde Park Corner but pedestrians are well catered for with several crossing points and underpasses. At the northern tip of Park Lane is Marble Arch which is where you will find speakers corner thriving on Sunday mornings. Its also the start of one of Europe's busiest shopping streets, Oxford Street. Within Mayfair itself is the fashion and jewellery Mecca of Bond Street with many exclusive shops with prices to match. The southern end of Park Lane is Hyde Park Corner which marks the start to the grounds of Buckingham Palace and the well known Piccadilly area. This is a central London location with good transport links. Local places of interest include Apsley House (0.2 miles), Green Park (0.2 miles), Wellington Arch (0.3 miles) and the Michael Faraday Museum (0.5 miles).

Sister hotel to the Dorchester Hotel. When complete 45 Park Lane will be a contemporary style hotel with an all-day dining restaurant. Working on the design is Thierry Despont, a designer with a world wide repuautation.
The building’s concrete-clad façade will be revamped to incorporate specialist eco-friendly fins, which will reduce the amount of heat from the sun onto the building meaning a reduction in the use of air-conditioning.
