Introduction: The Hotel Indigo
London Paddington is ideal if you have reason to need access to
Paddington Station. Just 100 yards from the station where you can
take dedicated services to Heathrow airport (
Heathrow
Express and Heathrow Connect) or out to other parts of England.
While some 1.7 miles from the very heart of London this area is
popular thanks to its good mix of amenities, transport links and
lower rates than the most central locations. Its just 400 yards from
here to the large parks of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens where
you'll find much to do including play areas, boating, cafes,
landscaped gardens and a good number of statues. The adjacent Praed
Street has a few small shops while its less than half a mile to the

Opened in January 2009 the Hotel Indigo Paddington is 64 room 4 star
contemporary and hip boutique hotel from an international chain. The
hotels style is chic and luxurious. The design is said to "bring
together mathematics, art and nature in perfect symmetry" and
results in a medieval mathematical theme running through the hotel.
One innovative idea is the changing nature of the hotel in
accordance with the season. This includes switching scents and
music, along with changing artwork.
The bedrooms all have individually controlled air-conditioning rooms
and are decorated in warm colours with a hardwood flooring, pure
wall floor rug and plush bedding and duvets. In-room amenities
include a satellite TV with pay movies and internet browser, double
glazing, safe, CD player, coffee/tea facilities, minibar, free WiFi,
desk with lamp, dual line phone with voicemail and worldlink power
and phone/internet connector. The rooms each have their own bathroom
with hairdryer and spa inspired showers.
Deluxe and King rooms have their own patio area.
Rooms are all non-smoking. Newspaper delivered fee each morning to
each room. Turndown service and daily maid service provided. Two
bedrooms are adapted for improved accessibility.

Within the hotel is the Phi Brasserie restaurant and Cafe where the
menu is seasonal traditional British dishes with a contemporary
twist. The menu makes use of natural ingredients, organic
ingredients and trans fat free options. Also serves coffee and has a
wine list to go with your meal.
Open for breakfast (full, continental, veggi), lunch (includes two
course express menu option) and dinner, 07.00 till 23.00.
The Hotel Indigo also has a cocktail lounge (accessible 24/7) for
guests to relax in. There is also an ice machine within the hotel.
WiFi is provided free of charge throughout the hotel.
For the energetic or those just trying to keep in shape the hotel
has thePhitness Studio which is open 24 hours and offers weight
machines, free weights, cycles and cardio equipment. There's an even
a TV to keep your attention during long work outs.

concierge service. A nice extra is the grocery shopping service the
hotel runs.

Comment: To mark the Indigos opening the world's largest hanging
basketwas placed 25 feet above the hotel entrance. The basket has
been dubbed 'The Hanging Gardens of Paddington'. It measures 20 feet
by 10 foot high, weighs a 1/4 of a tonne and consists of in excess
of one hundred varieties of plants.
