Introduction: Located between the
shopping district of Queensway and the major rail station at
Paddington is the Miller's Residence Hotel. This area is
considered central London although its some 2 miles from the main
central areas. The great thing for this location is the cheaper
rates generally for accommodation while being surrounded by plenty
of amenities, shops and restaurants in what is a mainly residential
area. Paddington station at just over half a mile way is the
terminating station for the
Heathrow Express and Connect services from
Heathrow Airport.
Westbourne Grove itself has some small high street type shops
(includes ethnic restaurants and some bars) but it leads down to the
chic and village like Notting Hill district just under half a mile
from the hotel. A must visit in the area is Portobello Road Antiques
Market 1/3rd of a mile away. Slightly further at 0.4 miles to the
south is
Hyde Park and
Kensington Gardens. Here you will find the Diana memorial
Fountain, a central Lake with boating in the summer, riding tracks
and in its south west corner Kensington palace (former home of Diana
Princess of Wales). This area is also home to the annual
Notting
Hill carnival which is centred on Ladbroke Grove.
Miller's Residence boutique hotel offers a slice of eighteen century
