Introduction: The Luton Hoo Hotel,
Golf and Spa is some 2 miles south of both Luton Town centre and Luton
International Airport (10 minutes drive). The name Hoo is the saxon word for
spur of the hill. Despite being so close to major public amenities the hotel
itself in set in 1000 acres of countryside and parkland (there are some Chestnut
trees that are over 300 years old) giving a peaceful and relaxing feel to this
country mansion house.
The The River Lea runs right through the hotel grounds creating two 50 acre lakes.
The parkland was originally designed by England's most famous landscape,
Architect Capability Brown, in the 1700's. 1 mile from the M1 motorway which can
get you to north London in 30 minutes or take you all the way up to the north of
England. Luton Airport Parkway Station run services into central London and the
city of London in around 30 minutes.
Its just over a mile from Capability Green Business Park and just under 2 miles
from Stockwood Country Park home to the Mossman Carriage Collection. Less than 3
miles to the Woodside Animal Farm & Leisure Park with play areas and farm yard
animals kids can view at close quarters.
Hotel:
Classic English country mansion with magnificent exteriors and sweeping driveway
(through aged oak and monkey puzzle trees) leading to the hotel entrance where
Liveried doormen greet you. Past visitors have included Queen Mary, Queen
Elizabeth II (1947, spent part of her honeymoon as personal friend of Lady Zia), Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten.
An 18 hole golf course and a £5 million pound Spa set the Luton Hoo Hotel apart
from other hotels in the locality.

parkland.
The Parkland Wing: 38 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites. All rooms have
LCD television and high speed internet access. Bedrooms and suites on the ground
have private terraces. The Roof Garden Suite has panoramic views of the hotel
grounds.
The Adams Wing: This is the Grade II listed Robert Adams stable building
where you will find the golf club house, spa and other leisure facilities. The
12 bedrooms and suites are aimed at guests looking to enjoy the golfing and Spa
facilities. Rooms have oak beam, vaulted ceilings, some with four-poster bed.
The Flower Garden Wing: 59 air-conditioned bedrooms and suites convenient
for the spa and golf course.
Warren Weir: Self contained private function and conference complex. 84
bedrooms with views of Warren Weir, on the banks of the River Lea.
7 bedrooms are adapted for guests with disabilities.

Dining:
Wernher Restaurant: AA rosette holder. Fine dining restaurant in a grand
and opulent setting, named after one of the hotels former
owners (a diamond magnate). The same architects that worked on the famous
Ritz Hotel London worked on
this part of the hotel in the first part of the 20th century. This was
originally the state dining room and is decorated with exotic marble panelwork
and richly coloured fabrics. Serves locally sourced traditional British classics with a modern twist.
Open: weekdays 12.30 till 14.00, weekdays and Saturday 19.00 till 22.30. Open
Sundays 13.00 till 21.00 (all day 3 course lunch)
The Adam’s Brasserie: The restaurant is located in the Stables building (designed 18th
century architect Robert Adams). Offering a more relaxed and informal dining
experience that the Wernher Restaurant with banquettes along one of the walls.
Dishes such as salads, fish, risottos, pasta and the Luton Hoo burger with thick
cut chips. Snacks and sandwiches available in the adjacent bar. Modern and light decor and decorated
with photographs from past films made on location at the Luton Hoo Hotel which
include 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'.
Open Wednesday through Saturday 10.30 till 17.00, 18.00 till 22.00,
Sunday 10:00 till 17.00.
Great Drawing Room: This is where tea is taken.
Business travellers will be able to make use of the 17 meeting/conference rooms
fitted with the latest A/V equipment and WiFi internet.
The hotel grounds includes 2 tennis courts and a fully restored Victorian grass
tennis court with its revolving pavilion (to track the sun). The Serpentine lake
allows for fishing and boating. There are mapped walking and jogging routes

The Spa at Luton Hoo (converted from the original Bothy building) has an indoor
swimming pool (under an oak-beam roof overlooking the Flower Garden Wood), 6
Treatment Rooms, Relaxation Lounge, rain soak showers, Hydrotherapy Pool, Heat Therapy Suite
(sauna, steam and solarium) and fully equipped gymnasium.
The hotel has its own 250 acres 7,107 yards long (ladies course 6,143 yards) par
73 championship golf course.
