The Premier Inn Dunstable South M1 J9 is situated in the countryside village of Flamstead, just
off junction 9 of the M1 motorway and within easy access of both
London and Luton. Flamstead is a historic village that can trace
its origins back to 1006 and has a pub, The Three Blackbirds, that dates back to
the 1500's. Perhaps best known in modern times for the annual Scarecrow Festival
held here annually in summer since 2001. Nearby places of interest include the
Animal Farm & Leisure Park (2.7 miles), Stockwood Craft Museum and Gardens (3.3
miles), Whipsnade Safari park (5.6 miles) and the Verulamium Museum featuring
everyday life in Roman Britain (5.6 miles). Luton's arndale shopping centre
which is a covered mall is 4 miles from here. The hotels name is slightly misleading since its actually nearer to Luton (2.7 miles) than Dunstable (4.7 miles), though it is south of both. Indeed its old name of Luton Hemel better described it as being between Luton and Hemel Hempstead (2.8 miles). The Premier Inn is a modern and contemporary hotel. The hotel has 75 rooms which all have En-suite power showers, satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, modem connection, work desk with lamp, hairdryer, double glazed windows that open, WIFI internet access and direct dial telephones. Room configurations are singles, doubles and twins. Four rooms are adapted for accessibility. The hotel serves a continental breakfast onsite from 05.00 in a dedicated dining area. There is also a bar area that is accessible 24 hours. Vending machines are also located onsite. Guests at the Premier Inn can enjoy Lunch or Dinner at the next door Harvester Restaurant, the home of the chargrill and salad cart.
