Introduction: The Travelodge Stansted Great Dunmow is located some is located some 5.3 miles from Stansted Airport. Its an easy journey along the A120 dual carriageway which goes directly to Stansted Airport. Actually on the south side of Great Dunmow. This small rural town with a population of around 9,000 is on the River Chelmer. Famous for the flitch trials. These happen every four years (the next one is in 2012). Basically any married couple that convinces a jury of 6 maidens and 6 bachelors that they have wanted to remain married for everyday of the last year they win a flitch of bacon (flitch is aside of bacon). This is a village like town with a high street that has a variety of shops and places to eat and drink. Local attractions include the 400 year old gardens of Easton Lodge (3.2 miles) and Great Dunmow Museum (1 mile).

Directions: From the M11 motorway. You need to come off at exit 8 and then take the A120 (Thremhall Avenue) in an east direction towards Dunmow. Leave the road at the A130 be taking the A130 Chelmsford Road. Hotel is just on the left next to a petrol station.
