M25
The M25 is the orbital motorway that encompasses the whole of greater
London. In fact in practical terms the M25 now determines the areas considered
to be within London by being a man border around it.
Gatwick Airport is located just over 9 miles from the M25, an almost
straight run along the M23.
Stansted Airport, Heathrow Airport and Luton Airport are also located
very close to the M25 motorway which means travel by road to each of these
airports is most practically travelled via the M25 even though the distances are
far greater than travelling in a straight line.
Please note that the M25 motorway is notorious for traffic delays and so all
journey times shown on this page are a guide only.
Bus and Coaches
The majority of coach services are not wheelchair accessible, but will
carry wheelchairs for passengers who are able to board the bus/coach unaided.
Several companies run coach and bus services from Gatwick to all parts
of the UK. Most of the routes are run from the upper level of the South Terminal
and most will also stop at the lower level of the North Terminal which is the
arrivals level. The Gatwick Coach Station is actually located on the lower level
of the South Terminal.
Direct connections to popular destinations include Heathrow, central
London, Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge and Norwich.

Minicab
A minicab is a private vehicle that can only be hired by being
pre-booked. You can contact our partner
minicab company here. Minicabs are nearly always cheaper than London
taxis for medium to long journeys.
As a general guide expect to pay around £60 into central London from
Gatwick for up to 4 passengers. Charge varies between companies and does not
include extra waiting time or larger than standard vehicles.
Train
Gatwick has a Station underneath the South Terminal, allow 10 minutes to
walk from the terminal to the station. You get between stations for free by
using the monorail link between the two buildings. Both terminals have rail
information desks and also facilities for purchasing tickets. You can also buy
tickets in the station itself.
From here the non-stop service into London known as the Gatwick Express
runs.
