TRANSFER TO LUTON AIRPORT

How to get from Gatwick Airport to Luton Airport :

Train:

Luton airport is not directly served by a station. The nearest station is Luton Airport Parkway. Once at the station you are transferred by the free Luton Airport Express Shuttlebus to the airport. The shuttlebus stops almost outside the terminal building at Luton as the coach terminus area is located adjacent to the terminal. Transfer takes around 10 minutes.

First Capital Connect operate a direct service between Gatwick and Luton Airport Parkway.

The ride takes around 80-85 minutes. Cost is from £21.90 one-way adult fare.
Trains run up to every 15 minutes at peak during the day and half hourly off peak. First train 02.30, last train 00.15.
Don't forget to add 5-10 minutes for the shuttle between Luton Airport Parkway Station and the airport itself.

Coach:

National Express operate two routes between Gatwick and Luton Airports. These run from 05.40 till 23.35. Service intervals are between every 100-120 minutes. Each of the below routes have an onboard WC.
707 - GATWICK AIRPORT, South Terminal > Gatwick Airport, North Terminal > London, Heathrow Airport, Terminal 4 > HEATHROW AIRPORT, central bus station > Hemel Hempstead, bus station, Hertfordshire > Luton, Airport, bus station, outside terminal
230 - GATWICK AIRPORT, South Terminal > Gatwick Airport, North Terminal > London, Heathrow Airport, Terminal 4 > HEATHROW AIRPORT, central bus station > Luton, Airport, bus station, outside terminal

Chequer Cars who operate out of Gatwick, both terminals with onsite offices were quoting £117.50 standard fare for 2006.

Road:
Travel by road is best travelled via the M25. Leave Gatwick Airport and follow the signs for the M23/M25 North towards London. From the North Terminal head towards the South Terminal and then pick up the M23/M25 signs. Travel for around 10 miles Northbound on the M23 towards London and the M25. Pick up the M25 Clockwise section towards Heathrow and the M4. Stay on the M25 for around 50 miles. Come off at the M1 northbound towards Luton. Make sure you are heading for the M1 North and not South as the signs can be very slightly confusing at this point with different turn offs for each direction. Stay on the M1 North for around 10 miles until you see the signs for the Luton Airport turnoff. make sure toy follow the sign for Luton Airport and not Luton Town centre.

Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 65-120 minutes.
Expect your coach journey to Luton Airport to take 135-160 minutes.
Expect your Train + Shuttlebus ride to take 90-95 minutes
The distance from Gatwick Airport to Luton Airport is 72 miles/115 km via the M25 or 52 miles/84 km in a straight line.
