How to get from Gatwick Airport to Stansted Airport :
Train:
There are two main ways to travel from Gatwick Airport to Stansted Airport by
train. You can obtain a though ticket for the whole journey but that wont cover
the Gatwick Express or Stansted Express which make less stops and so are
slightly quicker.
Through ticket route:
Option 1:
Take the southern railways train into Victoria station. Transfer onto the tube
Victoria line and take the train to Tottenham Hale Station or circle line to
Liverpool Street. Transfer onto the NXEA train
out to Stansted Airport.
When booked as one trip this costs around £33.60 one-way adult fare and takes around 115-120 minutes.
Stansted and Gatwick Express trains
Option 2: Take the Gatwick Express into Victoria station and complete the
journey as in option 1.
Stansted Express costs:
£21.50 (online), £22.50 (ticket machine/office)
Victoria to Stansted via Tottenham Hale costs £25.60 as a through
ticket
total cost from £47.10 and saves around 10 minutes in time.
Clearly Gatwick to Stansted on one through ticket (option 1) is the way to go.
Coach:
National Express run services up to 26 times a day between Gatwick (both
terminals) and Stansted. All coaches
have a WC onboard. Coaches run between 3.40 and 21.00.
Routes include:
717 - stops at Heathrow (central bus station and terminal 5) and Hatfield on route
727 - makes stops at Heathrow terminal 5 and Central Bus station, Honey
Lane (opposite Marriott Hotel), Waltham Abbey and terminates at Gatwick
both terminals.
797 - stops at Heathrow Airport terminal 5

Express Gatwick to Stansted Detailed Information
Train+Coach allowing stop over at central London
This journey can also be travelled using a combination of coach and train. The
benefit of this option is that it can be cheaper than using the train or coach
options alone and allows for a quick visit or overnight stay in London if your
itinerary allows or requires.
From Gatwick take the the southern railways service or the more expensive
Gatwick express train into Victoria Station (30-40 minutes).
From Victoria coach station which is adjacent to the train station take The
National Express coach service out to Stansted airport which runs 24 hours
Expect your journey to take between 160 and 220 minutes and costs around £13
to £30 (Coach £5.50 to £10. , train £7.50-£20)
Cheapest Option and Allows stop in central London
If your on a tight budget you can take the National Express Coach to Victoria
Coach station (75-95 minutes) and then transfer onto the coach for Stansted
(85-100 minutes).
Expect your journey to take between 160 and 220
minutes (plus transfer time) and cost around £13.50 to £28. (Coach
£8 +
£5.50 to £10. )
MiniCab and Private Hire Vehicle:
Around £100.
Road:
Travel by road is best travelled via the M25. Leave Gatwick Airport
and follow the signs for the M23/M25 North towards London. From the
North Terminal head towards the South Terminal and then pick up the
M23/M25 signs. Travel for around 10 miles Northbound on the M23 towards
London and the M25. Pick up the M25 anti-clockwise towards Dartford/M11
and stay on the M25 for around 42 miles. Come off at the M11 and head
North towards Stansted which will be well signposted and is just off of
the M11.
You will take the Queen Elizabeth Bridge while on the M25 and have to
pay a toll (currently £1) to carry on your journey.
Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 60-110 minutes.
Expect your coach journey to Gatwick airport to take 170-220 minutes.
