How to get from Heathrow Airport to London City Airport :

There is no direct shuttle or coach service  between these two airports. They are on opposite sides of the greater London, Heathrow to the west and London City to the east. The driving distance is 28.5 miles and the straight line distance is 22 miles. The journey involves crossing through the heart of London and if under taken by road it can be quite a nightmare in terms of average speed and traffic on route.
Please note its a fixed fare of £4.90-£6 per adult  for using both the tube and DLR network providing you don't exit any of the stations and you are making straight transfers between start and end points.

There are a few options to go from Heathrow to London City by train/tube.

1: Heathrow Express to Paddington station. Switch from this overground service to the tube network at Paddington and take the tube (Bakerloo line) out to Canning Town. You will need to switch from the Bakerloo Line to the Jubilee line at Baker Street station. At Canning Town switch to the DLR and ride out to London City Airport.
Heathrow Express takes 15 minutes from terminals 2 and 3, 23 minutes from terminal 5. No service terminal 4. Tube from Paddington to Canning Town takes around 35 minutes. Canning Town to London City Airport takes around 7 minutes.
Total time around 65 minutes
.
Cost: Heathrow Express: £22 (online), £22 (ticket machine), £27 (on train)
Tube/DLR (zones 1-3) £4.90
total from £26.90 per adult.

2: As above but use the TFL Rail service which is cheaper but slower as it stops on route to Paddington. No service from terminal 5.
Time: around 75 minutes. Cost on TFL Rail service £10.20 per adult
on tube/DLR £4.90
Total Cost from £15.10 per adult.

3: Take the tube (NOT the Heathrow Express) from Heathrow Airport (Piccadilly Line) to Green Park. Switch over to the Jubilee line and complete as route above. Zones 6 to 3 via zone 1.
Time: Approximately 90 minutes. Total Cost: Cash: £6 per adult (£3 11-15 yrs), Contactless £5.10 peak, £3.10 off-peak

Taxi:
A London black cab will cost around £85. However the destination is more than 20 miles from the airport which means they can refuse the job or negotiate a different fare (basically you can haggle).

Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 70-105 minutes minutes.
