Hogarth's House was constructed about 1700. At that time the location, Which is
now part of built up London, was actually the country home for William Hogarth,
famous for being a painter, engraver and satirist. Hogarth was best known for
telling stories by pictures with contemporary subjects (at that time). Hogarth
was reposonsible for the first copyright protection in 1735 to help protect his
work. Hogarth’s house has two floors open to visitors and exhibits include the
largest collection of his prints by Hogarth.
