The Leighton House Museum is the past residence of the great Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-1896). Leighton house is one of the most outstanding examples of 19th century buildings and gives a snapshot into the life of Leighton and the archuitecture of his day. Inside the house is a luxurious interior with the walls adorned with notable paintings from Lord Leighton himself as well as from fellow artists from the same period. Other features include the Arab Hall which houses Leightons 1000+ Islamic tiles and with a golden mosaic freize circling the room.
Opening Hours:
open daily except Tuesdays from 11am to 5.30pm.
closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
