Located along side Buckingham Palace is the
Queens
Gallery. This is an ever changing exhibition of items from the Royal
Collection. The building is the result of reconstructing the remains of the
former private chapel hit by a bomb from a German bomber in 1940. Redeveloped as
a gallery for the Royal collection in 1962 and opened to the public after a £20
million redevelopment again in May 2002. Past exhibits have included works
by the nest known names in the art world such as Leonardo (1969-70), Van Dyck
(1968) and Canaletto (1980-81).
