The museum closed for good on January 7th 2007 after failing in
its goal to raise five million pounds of funding to carry out refurbishment
work.
The Theatre Museum was dedicated to exhibits relating to performance and as such
was the largest such museum is the world. The aim was to promote interest and enjoyment throughout the UK in performing arts.
The museum had interactive exhibitions, manuscripts, books, paintings, live performances, models and video recordings all combining to provide an insight into the history of performing arts. |
