Located in Greenwich by Blackheath near to the A102 and the Blackwall tunnel was the Woodland’s Art gallery. Housed in a Georgian mansion/villa dating back to 1772 which was the former home of John Julius Angerstein (1735-1823) who was a collector of fine arts. It had been an art gallery since 1972 when it was the focus for presenting the history of the local area. In modern times works of modern art were on display with monthly exhibitions taking place which included photography, textiles and ceramics.

In October 2003 when the local history archives were moved to a new location on the Royal Arsenal site in Woolwich the gallery closed its doors for the last time. The Woodlands Art Gallery sadly no longer exists.
