TRANSFER TO GATWICK AIRPORT

How to get from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport:

Train:

There are three main ways to do this:
1: Take the One train service into London Liverpool Street Station. Transfer to the tube and take either the Hammersmith and City line, Circle Line or Metropolitan Line into Farringdon Station. Transfer onto the First Capital Connect service into Gatwick.
When booked as one trip this costs around £21.50 one-way adult fare and takes around 115 minutes.
2: Take the One Train service into Tottenham Hale Station. Transfer to the tube and take the Victoria Line into Victoria Station. Transfer onto the Gatwick Express non-stop service into Gatwick. As the tube transfer takes longer into Victoria it would make the First Capital Connect option the better option as it also cheaper.
When booked as one trip this costs around £21.50 one-way adult fare and takes around 120 minutes.
3: Take the Stansted Express into Tottenham Hale and complete the journey as in option 2.
When booked as one trip this costs around £21.90 one-way adult fare and takes around 120 minutes.

Road:
Travel by road is best travelled via the M25. Leave Stansted Airport and take the M11 south bound towards London. Pickup the M25 Southbound clockwise section at junction 6 following the signs for Dartford. You'll be on the M25 for some 40 miles until taking the M23 Gatwick/Brighton. You'll be on the M23 southbound for around 10 miles before coming off at the sign for Gatwick airport.
You can make this journey by heading straight through London but this is not a practical route as traffic will be pretty bad on weekdays and weekend afternoons.
On route on the M25 you will pass through the Dartford toll and have to pay a toll (currently £1) to carry on your journey.

Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 60-110 minutes.
Expect your coach journey to Gatwick airport to take 170-220 minutes.
The distance from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport is 72 miles/116 km via the M25 or 55 miles/89 km in a straight line.
