STANSTED TO HEATHROW AIRPORT TRANSFERHow to get from Stansted Airport to Heathrow Airport: Number one option for travel between Stansted Airport and Heathrow Airport is the National Express coach. Remember that the times listed below are all journey times. As for transferring between airports you must allow time for picking up bags and walking over to the transport of your choice and of course the check-in times at the destination airport. In general this would be around 75 minutes from landing and at least an hours check-in time at the destination airport. Coach: National Express have 3 buses making this connection to Heathrow from Stansted. All have onboard WC. Tickets can be bought at the airport. They operate up 28 times daily from 03.25 till 01.25 717 via Hatfield 727 via Waltham Abbey 797 via Waltham Abbey Expect your coach journey to Heathrow to take between 80-120 minutes. Transfer to terminal 4 can be up to 20 minutes longer. Terminal 4 is on the opposite side to the central Bus station which serves terminals 1,2, and 3. Cost is around £22.50 National Express timetables, services and fares Train: Stansted Airport Station is located just beneath the terminal building where facilities are available for purchasing tickets. All services cater for special needs although you are not able to travel with a bicycle on the Stansted Express. 1: Train from Stansted Station (Stansted Express) to Liverpool Street Station. Transfer to tube. Take the Hammersmith and City Line to Paddington Station. Transfer to Heathrow Express for ride into Heathrow Airport. Stansted to Paddington via Liverpool Street: £22 (about 85 minutes) Heathrow Express: £16.50 (online), £18 (ticket machine), £23 (on train) (15-23 minutes) Time: approximately 100-108 minutes. Cost around £38.50 2: as above but take the Heathrow Connect instead which is not non-stop but is cheaper. Time: approximately 108-113 minutes. Total cost around £29.90 3: Train from Stansted Station to Liverpool Street. Switch to tube and take the Central Line to Holborn Station. Switch to Piccadilly Line for ride out to Heathrow. Stansted Express: £18 (online), £19 (ticket machine/office) (apx 40 minutes) Tube fare: £4.50 per adult (apx 75 minutes) Time: approximately 115 minutes. Cost around £22.50 Cheapest Option There is a cheaper but longer option which may be of interest if your on a very strict budget. You can take the EasyBus coach service into Victoria station (or Baker Street) in central London and then take the London tube out to Heathrow airport (requires change of trains). Expect your total journey to take around 2 to 3 hours. Cost is around £6.50 - £14.50 depending on how early you book with easybus for a standard single fare. >>>Easybus.co.uk >>>tube fares Road: Journey is best travelled via the M11/M25/M4. Leave Stansted and pickup the M11 southbound towards London. After around 14 miles you will pickup the M25 Northbound Anticlockwise section towards Heathrow and the A1. Stay on the M25 for around 44 miles and come off at the M4 Eastbound section towards Heathrow Airport. Heathrow is off the first junction and is well sign posted. You can take this route for terminal 4 or stay on the M25 till the next junction which is signposted for terminal 4. Expect your journey by car/taxi/minicab to take 40-80 minutes. Expect your coach journey to Heathrow Airport to take 80-120 minutes. The distance from Stansted Airport to Heathrow Airport is 64.8 miles/104.3 km via the M25 or 42.1 miles/67.8 km in a straight line. |
