TRANSFER TO LONDONHow to get from Stansted Airport to London: Train As far as travel by train is concerned there 2 main options. 1: The Stansted Express. The Stansted Express is a train service that runs between Stansted Station just below the main terminal and London Liverpool Street Station in the City of London using Class 317/7 EMU trains. One line connects the following stations Stansted Mountfitchet, Bishops Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Harlow Mill, Harlow Town, Roydon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Tottenham Hale, Stratford and terminates at London Liverpool Street. the journey takes 45-50 minutes and costs £15 The other route terminates Stratford in East London and goes via Stansted Mountfitchet, Bishops Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Harlow Mill, Harlow Town, Roydon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Enfield Lock, Brimsdown, Ponders End, Angel Road, Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale. This route runs weekdays only. The route to Stratford gives you connections to the Docklands and East London. Will vary considerably depending on car type and company used. Taxi: There is a taxi service that ranks up outside the terminal and with a desk inside the terminal. Rental Car: major companies have rental desks inside the terminal. By road depends on where In London you are going. To Central and East London. Leave Stansted and follow the signs for the M11 South towards London. Keep going till you hit the A406 North Circular Road. For East London keep straight onto the North Circular towards Ilford and Romford. For Central London and the City of London take a right onto the the A406 North Circular Road towards North London. You think take a left onto the A104 South and pick up the Lea Bridge Road. This takes you into the Clacton/Hackney area. Basically from this point you head south towards the City of London to pickup the A3211 along Tower Hill and down to the Victoria Embankment. This takes you down to Parliament Square or Trafalgar Square depending on where you turn off. This is central London. 20 min To North and West London. For this journey the best way is to head South down the M11 and pickup the M25 Towards Heathrow and the A1, anticlockwise. You then have a choice of turn off depending on where in London you are going. Taking the A1 south will bring you into North London and Brent Cross. The A1 goes into central London. You can also take the A406 North Circular West bound from the A1 for areas in West London. To South London You can either take the M25 Clockwise towards Dartford and then come back in on the appropriate turn off or head into Central London and cross the River Thames into the South. Bus and Coach Services National Express have the following routes that terminate at London Victoria Station in central London: A4 and the A6 - Golders Green, Finchley Road Underground Station, St Johns Wood, Baker Street, Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner, Victoria. Operates up to every 10 minutes - 24 hrs a day. the A4 and A6 takes around 90-120 minutes The A9 route is a non-stop service to London Stratford in East London every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. the A9 takes around 45-65 minutes to Stratford From Stratford you can use the Central Line on the tune network to transfer into Liverpool Street, Holborn and Central London. The docklands light railway connects to Stratford Station for routes in the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf. The Jubilee Line connects Stratford to Canary Wharf and Waterloo.
