| Rated 5 out of 5 : We have just had a chance to stay in a deluxe room at this very chic and uber modern hotel, yes it may be expensive but you get what you pay for from the moment you walk in you get a warm welcome from the doorman. a fast check in at reception where a host escorts you to your room, the room was stunning, spacious, clean, and very modern from the huge bang & olufsen tv to the telephone that operates everything in the room from the blinds to the accidently pushed the host button and within 20-30 seconds he was knocking at my door...if you want a treat than you should definitely try this hotel Rated 4 out of 5 : Although part of the Dorchester Collection and adjacent to The Dorchester itself, the 45 Park Lane still has a long way to go to achieve ''the Dorchester service''. There were several striking elements which have nothing to do with the ''Dorchester DNA'': - despite the modern, boutique style decor, the uniforms of the Front Office staff look cheap (but not chic). - this might the chain's most advance hotels in terms of technology - but there should still be someone to pick up the phone when dialling ''Host'' (I tried on several occasions - at best, the operator is answering) - although there are only 45 rooms, the Front Office staff always seemed too overwhelmed to smile - the hotel might have a famous Michelin starred chef, but that doesn't mean the lobby and entrance area have to smell of food, especially at lunch time and evenings In terms of design, the 45 Park Lane is contemporary, with a 50s twist - the rooms being warm and cosy; the marble bathroom is splendid and the Aromatherapy Associates amenities a great addition. Lighting, airconditioning and blinds can be remotely controlled on the touch screen phones by the bed and on the business desk. However, even in terms of technology, I have found some sharp contrasts - there is an Iphone and the latest large LCD by Bang Olufsen but the wi-fi internet is rather slow. Although the hotel websites mentions on certain rates that internet is included, I later found out that only 12 hours of internet are included per day. Rated 5 out of 5 : My wife and I normally stay at The Dorchester and love it. We tried 45 Park Lane over the weekend of the 10th & 11th December and thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll go back to The Dorchester in future because we like the chintz and feel of the larger hotel but would stay at 45 Park Lane again if The Dorchester was full. The rooms are large and modern and very very comfortable, I wouldn't fault them at all. The bar is a little small with limited seating but the staff make the most of what they have and are very professional and friendly. As I said, we would go back to The Dorchester only as a matter of personal preference and we recommend 45 to anybody who likes a more modern and smaller hotel. Rated 5 out of 5 : A one night stay for dinner at the Cut, see separate review, to celebrate my lovely wife's birthday, we wish we had booked to stay longer. The staff were all great, courteous, helpful and always available. The rooms were superb. Great decor, great space, everything was quality of a very high standard. We took a room on the 3rd floor, if you can go higher do so as the views are great. For a small boutique they have done a great job with the space and decor. Pre-dinner drinks in Bar 45 were good and after dinner the place was buzzy and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Having travelled extensively and had many hotel breakfasts, this was way above anything that we have had before. Knocks spots off its near neighbours such as Claridge's and the Savoy. Worth going back just for that experience alone. Highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 : Really very impressed by this hotel. The staff were very helpful, and couldn’t do enough to please us. The room was very comfortable and high tech. Almost everything was controlled via a telephone or touch screen and the large TV was of very good quality, and the room had been somewhat future proofed with usb and various sockets located under the TV and on the desk. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing, a huge bath, double sinks and wet room. |
