Rated 4 out of 5 :
Very good, relatively new hotel in the Heart of "Excel" land.
We stayed for two nights over the London boat show and used the majority of the hotels facilities including the Gym, Pool ,bar and attached restaurant.
The parking was very simple, although there was an additional charge and check in was fairly efficient. Unfortunately they were suffering some technical al difficulties, however the reception staff were not phased and simple checked us in manually.
with regards to the rooms, these were very modern / trendy in design and with none of the functionality left out.
fantastic walk in shower, good wardrobe space and bright, modern, colourful decor.
Our only criticism about the room was the distinct lack of drawers! Whilst the open shelve look may be more aesthetically pleasing, once filled with our "delicates" it soon lost it's appeal!
Overall a very good hotel, great location, offering good value for money, however suffering slightly form "teething problems" which I have no doubt will be ironed out in the near future
Highly Recommend!

I've been going to Excel for the London Boatshow for a number of years. Aloft is a great addition and raises the game. The bedrooms are fantastic and above the norm for market sector. Big, classy, great washroom and wet room. Good wardrobes, blinds that work and a socking great telly. Free Wifi too. Very convenient for the shows at excel, but not for much else. The docklands area is a bit like war torn Beirut!

Very close to metro station. Facility is good! The bed is comfortable. Stuff is enthusiasm and willing to help. In a word, it is a very good place to stay. If have chance, we will stay in this hotel again.
The location is a little bit far away from London city centre, anyway, is still a good place to stay if you can bear 30 to 40 mins on traffic everyday. The other thing is it does not has a rubbish bin in the room.

Nice modern hotel. Excellent free WiFi. Getting to it is easy, DLR from tower gate direct or from Bank but need to change trains, best at Westferry. From Prince regent station just walk to the hotel and enter through the restaurant. . The gym and pool are nice. Everything is moder new and comfortable.
Cannot comment on food, had a rather expensive room, only to discover that breakfast is not included

I stayed at this hotel as I was attending an exhibition at Excel, it has great architecture but no room service, that includes no breakfast, there is a kind of shop in the reception area that provides breakfast. Staff are friendly and it really has one of the best locations, literally about a 20 second walk from the East Entrance of Excel. his location is not recommended though, if you are planning to visit Central London. The down side of this hotel (although it had literally opened that week, so it might have improved by now) was the food. There is a restaurant, independent from the Hotel, but it was over priced and the food was not that great. I preferred the Italian restaurant at the Ramada, which has much better food and perfect service at reasonable price. Concerning the room service, apparently that is the concept of the hotel, no room service, to keep the prices down. there is a kettle but very few coffee of tea sachets, so bring that with you, if you are thinking of staying here
Room Tip: all rooms seem to be the same, One great thing they have is the European plug sockets as well as UK ones, so convenient.

The Aloft London ExCel has a contemporary style to it, from the spiralling wooden staircase to the private booths at the downstairs bar.
The rooms are bright, airy and feel brand new, showers have good water pressure and rain shower heads. Complimentary bottled water in the rooms was great, although paper cups to make your morning tea & coffee in is slightly unusual.
Plush plump pillows on the beds and free TV is a bonus.
As a location it's right next to London ExCel and for events, is a mere 5 minute walk to the centre of the venue.
There's a 'grab & go' station next to reception at the hotel, where fresh sandwiches, fruit, muesli bars, oats, toasted Panini's etc are available. We stayed there on a bed & breakfast package and breakfast included up to 5 items from the grab & go, which means if you're selective you can end up with breakfast, lunch and a hot or cold drink to take away with you.
The downfall for this hotel is the restaurant. The first night we ate at the restaurant the food was good, the service was good and we left satisfied.
The second night, the restaurant was busier, we waited for almost 3 hours for main meals to be served and unfortunately when they were, for our table of 10 some meals were cold and some were not what we'd ordered. The staff seemed unequipped to deal with the number of people and we heard stories of guests waiting up to an hour to be seated, and some being turned away without eating.
The hotel is great, I know it's new and will no doubt iron out any small issues as it becomes more established. However, if you choose to stay at the Aloft, make sure that you book dinner reservations elsewhere.
We dined at a place called 'The Gun' - about a 10 minute taxi ride away (approx 12 quid) where the food was delightful, the setting is beautiful and it is worth the extra money to go there and thoroughly enjoy yourself.
Room Tip: we stayed on the 8th floor, the view isn't exactly breathtaking but it's elevated enough to feel like you're out of the city!

Close to Excel Centre. Very efficient check-in and check-out. Rooms very clean. Room of high standard with excellent media centre facilities.
Couldn't pay for restaurant on room card. No biscuits with tea making facilities Didn't serve pints of beer in restaurant

Rated 4 out of 5:
Hotel nice and modern. Some of the finishes in the room weren't great, Carpet joints etc. Hotel staff great! Hotel XYZ Bar faultless ! Fede restaurant and bar (sublet from Aloft) Friendly but inexperienced staff. Serious issues with weights and measures act £4.80 for a unspecified glass of amstell? I queried and staff said yeah that's right. I asked if i had bought a half pint for £4.80 and they said no you bought a glass. The glass wasn't even marked with any stamp or measure lines. So I still don't know if they are incredible expensive at roughly £9.60 a pint or if they need to sort out there pricing structure! HM revenue and customs would not be impressed
