| Rated 3.6 out of 5: Great location - 2 underground stations really close to the hotel. The room was warm and clean. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Location was great. Very disappointed to have been allocated a basement room with part of ceiling height over 3 beds being 5.5ft..As I am 6ft tall, I had to stoop down getting into and out of bed ie. after getting a few bumps on my head initially. Rated 3 out of 5: Wow! People really do come on here to moan about pettiness that isn't overly relevant. Not enough people come on here and say good things! I was dreading staying here after what EVERYONE was writing, but actually i had an excellent stay. This hotel is in a fantastic location literally 5 minutes walk from earls court underground. The room is yes standard, but it is clean and comfy. Wouldn't recommend staying for longer than a nights over stay though. Reasons being the bathroom is ridiculously small. Also the heating must be on full all night because its roasting constantly, we had to sleep with the window open all night to actually breathe! We didn't have the breakfast, when we arrived late evening we headed up to the Sainsbury at the end of the road and bought some fruit and breakfast bars and we had those in the morning which was fine for us. But there is plenty of places to eat (morning-evening) on Cromwell Road which is literally just around the corner. I thought this hotel was perfect for and overnight stay in a perfect location, not near all the hustle and bustle of London. The prices were extremly reasonable too. A guest gave the Ambassadors Hotel 3 out of 5 and commented: Fairly conveniently placed for underground connections to most of tourist attractions. Check-in was friendly and efficient and reception staff generally pleasant and helpful. Similarly, waiting staff in the Breakfast Room were hard working and attentive. All very positive so far, Unfortunately the rooms are very small, and I do mean small! In our room there was a king-sized bed which left little room for anything else, not even a chair. If you wanted to sit down, there was only the bed. The bathroom was also very small. There was a TV in the room but reception was so poor as to make it unusable. The walls between rooms were paper thin-or appeared to be-as we could hear the conversation quite clearly from the room next us. The hotel was spotlessly clean overall and we had no complaints on that score. Breakfast was more than adequate with a reasonable range of dishes. The published "rack rate" was ?135 for a double and I don't believe it is value for money at that level. I have stayed in much worse hotels but none with smaller rooms-even in Tokyo. |
