| Rated 3.2 out of 5 : The hotel is a just few minutes' walk away from the Kensington Olympia Exhibition Centre and transport links. The hotel could benefit from some redecoration and repairs, and more staff who understand/speak good English. Rated 3.5 out of 5 : The Avonmore is fairly basic, but well priced for Central London. The rooms are clean and warm, and the bed fresh. The bathroom could have done with some attention - shower curtain was difficult to operate and the toilet took a long time for the cistern to refill - but other than this everything was fine. A good base for exploring Central London, particularly if you are not planning on spending much time in the hotel anyway or (like myself) you are a working and just want somewhere to rest your head. Rated 3 out of 5 : Just returned from a stay at the Avonmore Hotel. I'd give it a bit of a mixed review - the hotel is somewhat shabby; the rooms are small and the staircases quite steep going up to small rooms. The toilet took a long time to refill, so sometimes didn't flush consistently. The website definitely makes it look more luxurious than the reality. The staff, however, was very lovely and helpful, the breakfast was good, the hotel was clean, the rooms made up promptly, and the single beds were comfortable. West Kensington is a residential neighbourhood a little outside central London, the hotel is a 5 -7 minute walk to both the underground and buses that go directly into the centre of the city. (Need to figure on about 30 minutes on the Tube or bus). There is a very good Turkish restaurant nearby, as well as several local pubs, but otherwise not a big restaurant or shopping area.
