Rated 4 out of 5:
First off, for anyone who is travelling to Europe for the first time, don't expect hotels to be the same way they are in North America. My previous trips to Europe I stayed in hostels or couch surfed, so this was a huge step up for me!
The room was tiny, but the very fact I didn't have to share a bathroom was great. I had a single bed, which was probably the worst part - there was a spring that dug into my back no matter which way I shifted. It's true that there is no elevator, but the staff was quick to offer to carry my bags up for me. The room was cleaned every day, but, as I mentioned, things in Europe are not shiny and new like they are in North America, so it's a little run-down looking.
The area this hotel is in was actually a surprise to me. It's quite a ways out from Central London, but if you catch the Tube at certain times of day, they have a "fast train" that skips most of the in-between stops and takes you directly to the Baker Street station. You're basically a three minute walk to the Tube station and the way to get to the station is through a pedestrian only street of shopping. My only complaint about the area itself would have been the lack of places to eat at after 6:00 pm. Once all the stores close, the restaurants seem to, as well.
My personal opinion on hotels in places like London are that they're only a place to sleep and shower, the real enjoyment is waiting to be discovered. Overall, unless you're staying in a five star hotel, the Best Western Cumberland is what you can expect of a hotel in such an old (but history rich) country.

Rated 3.5 out of 5:
The room was adequate for our purposes - we only needed a bed for the night. The attic room we had was hot, with twin single beds seperated by a wall which was a bit strange. However as we had a cheap deal on laterooms we weren't too disappointed. If we had been staying for more than one night or had needed to spend more time in the room it wouldn't have been much fun.

We had a very good week-end in London, impressed with the Best Western Cumberland Harrow. It was very comfortable and clean, the choice of breakfast was very good. Hotel was ideal for the tube into London, we enjoyed our visit in London and saw all the sights and shopping.

A guest of the Best Western Cumberland Hotel gave the hotel 4 out of 5 and said:
