| A Best Western Phoenix hotel guest rated the hotel 5 out of 5: I've stayed at the phoenix many times before, and I still think it's got everything I need for my business trips to London. The location is great for working anywhere in London or for visitors sightseeing. The nearest tube station is 2 minutes away on foot, hyde park is 10 minutes away on foot, and the bayswater rd is just round the corner, with all the shops you need, cinema and restaurants etc There's more restaurants of differing origins and types of food than I've seen anywhere. The staff are very courteous and always helpful, and theres usually a friendly face or 2 at the bar! Rated 4 out of 5 : Best Western Phoenix Hotel is good for location, quality and stay. You can go easily to hotel by airport express from Heathrow to Paddington within 15 minutes. The hotel is near to Paddington within 15 minutes walking distance. Also very near to borth underground stations Bayswater and Queensway, within 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel is clean, the breaksfast is good and the balance between what you pay and what to get is certainly good. The hotel is very near to Notting Hill, Portebello Market, Kensington Gardens, Heidi Park, Kensington Palace within 15 minutes walking distance. Rated 3.7 out of 5: Nice reception and clean rooms. A bit old fashioned rooms. Could do with a bit of jazzing up! Just the look and feel of the rooms dont really appeal to me. Rated 4 out of 5: Memeber of the Best Western Chain which is merely a marketing brand. The hotel has been refurbished in the past few years and whilst I was there was ahving some further refreshment - newly painted corriders. Couldn't fault it for ?65 - double room - was fine for single use but 2 people would have been impossibly tight squeeze. Continental breakfast was free - again nothing wrong but I wouldn't have paid for it so was an addeed bonus. Typical of hotels of this vinatge - corrdiors are a bit of a maze, varying floor levels - odd steps - my room had a 6inch step outside the door - if you were short sighted/clumsy - you could easily trip on entering - but unlikely to have hit the floor as the bed would have cushioned your fall! |
