| Rated 3 out of 5: Located very close to Pimlico tube stop and Victoria station which made travel very easy. Nice area of London for families and couples, pretty quite and nice. Wouldn't be ideal for people looking to stay in a good area to party in. The room was pretty small. Bathroom was tiny and everything was kind of old. Not dirty or non working, just kind of old. Had a room on the top floor and the wifi didn't reach up to that floor. Had to go downstairs to use the internet. No reception desk to be found, didn't need to talk to reception at all during the stay but I wouldn't have been sure how to get a hold of someone from the hotel had I needed to. Rated 2.5 out of 5: Staff and management very good, but for what the room included (very cramped bathroom, no plug in basin) and very small sink it is overpriced, although I appreciated the free Wi-Fi. If the price was reduced (20%) I may consider staying again but not at the current ones. I am staying in another 3* B&B down the road for the same price and their facilities are much better . Rated 4 out of 5: Claudia (owner?) was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and she made us very welcome. Breakfast was great, well organised and efficient service. Good location with great restaurants nearby. Would stay again. Our room was quite noisy, maybe this was due to us having the window open as it was very hot in the room despite the small table fan provided. It would have been nice to have Tea & Coffee facilities in the room.| A guest to the Blades Hotel awarded the hotel 4 out of 5 saying: My daughter and I went to London for the first time and was looking for a place that was reasonable and close to the tourist attractions. The Blades Hotel was just what the doctor ordered; not only was the staff great but the other guests were friendly and it was more of a family atmosphere than a hotel atmosphere. We stayed eight days with no regrets. Kevin and Lydia were the perfect hosts and we were treated as family. This is a Victorian Hotel that is not ultra modern or ultra swank but if you are looking for a nice, clean and safe place to stay this is the place for you. Our intention was not to spend much time in our room and we did not. Public transporation is just a short walk away both the bus and underground. Musems, the Palace and other London Landmarks are within walking distance. I was not disappointed because I did take into account all the reviews on this site. For us there were no surprises. I am planning to return to London in the not too distant future and I will not hesitate to stay at the Blades again. Liked: Location, Disliked: I couldn't stay longer. |
