Liked: General cleanliness and the helpful attitude of all the staff
Overall: More than adequate for the purpose of our visit to London

Rated 3.5 out of 5:
room is big and bed is comfortable, location as well, close to centre
no luggage facilities, very annoying for tourists, coffee for breakfast very bad, staff could be a bit more helpful..

Rated 4.5 out of 5:
Excellent clean hotel, Ideal for visiting Kensington Palace gardens & park, hyde park and Buckingham Palace in easy walking distance approx 20 mins.

This Hotel is just fine.. Staff was helpfull but there's no bal boy service.. and my mum really shoped well.. uurrgghh i was like dying carrying all our bags down to the lobby and to make it worst we can't leave aour bags there when our flight is like in 10 hous time!!! and the Room is clean but the toilet is so small they change towels everyday but no toiletries added only sanitarry bags.. Very continental breakfast.. pay less then you eat less.. the greatest thing about this hotel is its really near to the train station, food outlets and last minute souvenir shops.. Overall my stay here was just good..

review: This Hotel is so well presented in the web that I thought I had a good deal but I was proven wrong.
Everything started with the booking in process and signing the form I had to fill in my passport number - just because I am German and not British. The fact that my British husband and I are living in UK for quite a few years now didn t matter to the Receptionist. It was my luck that I did carry my passport with me that day. Funnily enough I booked a room in this hotel via an internet and there was nothing mentioned to bring your passport along for the booking in procedure! However, once booked in we were told that we would have a room in the basement! When we entered the room there was no window and the air condition wasn t working properly, instead of cool air there was luke warm air coming out we couldn t even switch it to a cooler lever because there was no remote control for the air con!!! Again we went to the Reception and we were asking the Staff to sort the problem. When my hubby and I came back later that night the problem with the aircon wasn t sorted and the Night Receptionist told us to complain to the Duty Manager the next morning because he couldn t do a thing!!! So, after a restless night in a warm room with no window we were hoping for a nice breakfast which was including this booking. Shortly after we arrived in the lounge we were told, that if we want a full English Breakfast we would have to pay ?8 per person extra (even at Weatherspoons you will get a full English Breakfast for ?1.99!!!). So, what I had booked in the internet was the Continental Breakfast such as Toast, white rolls, Croissants, (all not very fresh) butter, 3 different jams and Cornflakes no cheese or ham!! We checked out within 30 min after going for breakfast. As I found out later we wasn t the only couple who was fooled by this nice looking web page of the Hotel. Some other couples were there that morning to complain about the same problem with the booked problem like we had.
To be honest, I am very disappointed about this Hotel, the staff was friendly but not very helpful it s really a shame! Where are these days gone where the customer was King? From a rate 1 10 I would give it only a 3!!! Never again no thank you!

review: After reading the other reviews we were dreading arriving at the hotel. However, we found it clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was two minutes walk from Kensington gardens and within five minutes of lots of pubs and restaurants serving a wide variety of reasonably priced meals. There were also plenty if popular shops, M & S etc. in the area. Our visit was just after the London tube bombings so there was some disruption to the transport system but most of the main tourist attractions were within walking distance - the V & A, Buckingham Palace etc. We would book this hotel again next time we visit.

review: The WORST hotel I have ever been in. I cannot describe to you the frustrations I endured at this hotel, unless I have at least five pages worth of space. First of all, the pictures that I found of it online were FALSE. Walking in, my husband and I saw that this hotel was run-down, old, had ripped sofas not bought after 1970, stained and dirty carpeting, a smell of cigarettes, and overall looked like a one-star motel. The night manager was extremely snide and obnoxious to us, claiming that our reservation was not made (which it was, on Expedia, as Expedia later verified.) It was 2 am and we had just arrived from overseas. We were tired and exhausted and finally convinced them that we had a reservation. The night manager insisted that he only had one room left, with one bed. So we were let into the room, and it was TINY. At the foot of the small bed was a window, there was an aisle of walking space between the bed and dirty cracked wooden dresser of about one foot wide, and my husband somehow managed to sleep on the floor (the two of us couldn't fit on the bed because it was a cot. Mind you, I'm 120 lb.s and he's 160. We're not large people). We asked for additional blankets and were refused. I couldn't fall asleep, and in my exhaustion burst into tears. Here's the kicker. My husband, Aaron, and I, went downstairs to the lobby in the middle of the night and asked to call Expedia.com so that they could prove we had an actual reservation. The night manager refused to let us use the phone even though it was a 1-800 toll free number. We used the phone, which said it was 11 cents to call overseas. Our 20 minute bill was...this is not an exxageration... TWO HUNDRED and SEVENTY FOUR dollars. Which the hotel refused to waive. The experience was easily the worst night of my life. I told my husband that I'm not staying in that hotel or in the country. We went back to the airport that night and got the hell out of there. The night manager was totally obnoxious, and at one point even laughed at us when we were asking for help. The hotel is a dump, the people are abysmal, so do yourself the favor and please, please, stay anywhere else.

review: This hotel is horrible. It is listed as a 3 star hotel and this is an inaccurate rating. At best, it is a 1 1/2. We booked into this hotel and upon check in were extremely disappointed. A 3 star hotel should be CLEAN at the very least and there should not be cigarette burns in the walls of your room. The staff should be held responsible to: put a sign up when a lift is not working; have the lobby carpeting cleaned; and not book a room that is dirty and has burns in the wall. We checked in and promptly checked out and were charged for not giving 24 hour notice. We should have been notified that this hotel is not a 3 star hotel as it is reported to be.
