Following in the footsteps of a variety of reviewers, I used the Chamberlain Hotel for a (Sunday) one night stay in London and found it to be excellent value. My opinion was certainly helped when the efficient receptionist indicated that we had been upgraded (at no cost) to a luxury room at the rear of the premises. It is hard to fault the premises, staff or restaurant - which we used for our Sunday evening meal and Monday morning ( complimentary) breakfast. Thanks to the reviews and suggestions provided by other guests I was delighted with our stay and have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel and its excellent restaurant.

I picked this hotel because of its location (very close to Liverpool Street Station), but having stayed there now I would (and will) stay there again because of everything the hotel itself has to offer.
I loved the romantic decor, which stil had a fresh look & feel to it, unlike a lot of (even very luxury) hotels I know that have a bit of a tired look & feel over it. The room was spacious by London standards, very well-equipped with a fantastic bathroom, and spotlessly clean. The only minor setbacks were that TV reception wasn't great - and the TV tile in the bathroom didn't work, only audio. Bed was fantastic. When in the room I could hear a slight rumble of trains passing now and again, but it wasn't a disturbing / distracting sound.
As for the food, I loved the breakfast (but wouldn't have the American pancakes again, which were a bit dry - breakfast on other days was delicous). Also had lunch and dinner there one day and that was of a good quality too.
As I forgot my laptop, I was happy to be able to go on the internet at the desk provided by the hotel as a standard service to guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
In short: couldn't find real fault with this hotel and have already booked several other stays in the coming months. Excellent value for money!

Liked: Had annoying noise in room the first night from something in the heat or vent system - but it was corrected after the first night.
Overall: Comfortable, mostly quiet (after initial problem). Service was good, room was clean

Rated 4.5 out of 5:
We had stayed at the Chamberlain before; it's a lovely, comfortable, very clean hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and once again we were upgraded from a club room to an executive room when we arrived. The room was spacious, well laid out and as described. The staff were very helpful and courteous; we arrived slightly early for check in so the room wasn't ready, but they allowed us to leave our bags at reception so we didn't have to lug them around and we were able to sit in the bar until the room was done. The bathroom was very clean, very well stock and the shower is brilliant! Very good hotel experience and would hope to stay there again.

review: This was one of the worst hotels and very expensive. Air Conditioning doesn't work, rooms are small, and there is virtually very little service. A charge for the pool link accross the street--basically nothing is included. A very poor value for the money, and plan to stay up all night as it has bars completely surrounding it and a subway train under it, with people screaming all night.
