| A Citadines Holborn Covent Garden guest gave the stay 4 out of 5 : We stayed in a one-bedroom at the Citadines Holborn hotel in May 2009 with our two sons ages 5 and 10. It was a great set up for us during our four days in London. First off, the Holborn tube stop is 1 block away so getting from Heathrow to the hotel is a breeze using Heathrow Connect and then the Tube. No problem at all. The whole area of Holborn has everything you need including a Sainsbury nearby. And it's close enough to all the major sights. We didn't use any of the hotel amenities other than the room, so I can't speak to those but I found the front desk staff to be friendly and efficient. The apartment itself was not huge. There is a hall closet that adequately accommodated our suitcases. The bedroom had a king size bed and very little room for anything else, but both sides of teh bed had nightstands and power ports as well as reading lamps. The living area of the apartment had a sofa that pulled out to two twin beds--perfect for my boys. The kitchenette was small but adequate for four days. The small table was used more for our stuff than for eating, but had we wanted to clear it for a meal we could have. This is not a luxury property nor is it a place where you'd hang out. But if you're going to London with your family and need a place that has a kitchenette and enough space for four people then it's right for you. Rated 3 out of 5 : I spent two nights here during the WTM event and since my own event was planned last minute, hotel rates were sky-high. This place is very convenient to my work so I really don't have any complaints about that and if you're just sleeping here for a night or 2 than it's fine, but if you're spending much time there, than I would choose someone else. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and although there were some complaints on the room, every time I needed something, someone was up there to help immediately. The blanket on the bed was so thin that I was freezing the first night, but they immediately brought up another blanket when I asked the next day. I also had problems with the TV being hooked up properly, however, again, someone came up and fixed it right away. I know this place is supposed to be more of an extended-stay accommodation, but I didn't find it comfortable enough for even a few nights. The bathroom towels were thin and the bathroom was very small. I didn't use the kitchen at all, but it probably wouldn't been fine for a short stay as it had all the basics. The room was fine, a decent size, however the agent on the phone made a point of the room having a 'real' bed (even though it was a fold out couch). This was nothing like a real bed and was very uncomfortable. The price was still pretty steep, but like I said, the whole city was packed so that's to be expected. If they were offered a good deal, I may consider staying for a single night and just make sure to get the extra blankets at check in. Rated 4.4 out of 5 : The apartment was lovely and it was nice to be able to stay together with my friends Disliked: Lack of clean towels Rated 3.6 out of 5 : Liked: location & good sound insulation Disliked: Didn't like pull out bed & very small kitchen |
