review: On our arrival to the Clarendon Hotel Blackheath we were instantly dissapointed due to the lack of parking spaces, after driving around the blcok several times we were lucky enough to see someone leaving and quickly parked our car. The reception staff were polite and helpful.  Our room was very small and basic, I have seen better rooms in Travel Lodge. The bathroom was tiny and the shower was operated by the bath taps and was impossibale to get the temperature right. We were staying at the hotel for a work Christmas party, the food was below average and the service was shocking, vegetables were thrown onto the plates and some members of our party didn't get any potatoes. One meal had to be returned as it got cold whislt waiting for the vegetables and when it was brought back the waitress raised her voice and told us "if it's not right don't blame me" This meal cost us £45.00 per head! The banging heating pipes woke us up the next day at 7.00am. Our friends also stayed at the hotel and were awoken by a member of staff walking into their room without knocking or calling.  When asked what was going on they just said they were checking and then walked away. We didn't saty for breakfast as there weren't enough tables and to be honest we just wanted to go home.  We paid £80.00 for the room but these rooms usually cost £120.00 per night, to charge prices like these and give the inadequate service is beyond me. I will never stay at this hotel again.
