| Rated 3.8 out of 5: Great location, close to Notting Hill Gate tube station and Portobello road, yet on a relatively quiet street. The place looks like it has recently been refurbished throughout. I stayed in executive studio apartment on the top floor. The studio actually had a separate bedroom and kitchen/lounge area with a leather sofa and large flat TV. The room was superb with very fashionable furnishings and comfortable bed. The kitchen was stocked with tableware for 4, electric stove, dishwasher, small fridge and a laundry machine. This isn't a hotel but specialty lodging so do not expect any hotel-type amenities. There is no daily room cleaning or towel change. There is no room service, not even a phone in the room. The internet was included the rate but it was on/off during my stay and quite slow. Rated 4 out of 5: Stayed here for five nights in May and was very worried about what we would find having read reviews on this site. Beginning to think the reviewers had stayed at a different accommodation. We arrived at 14.30 and after check-in were shown straight to our rooms. Yes, they are not huge rooms but given their location they were more than adequate. Let's be honest, as a tourist you're not spending all day and night in your room. Location is fab - literally round the corner from Notting Hill Gate underground, a 5-10 minute leisurely walk to Portobello Road and in an area with good facilities and restaurants. We did have a problem with the water in our room (no cold water) but this was attended to very quickly by the concierge staff. Kitchen areas contained a fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, microwave, two ring hob and full size oven so if you wanted to eat in you have all the facilities needed. I would definitely recommend these apartments for a leisure trip and would have no hesitation about booking them again. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Nice to have a little kitchen and dining area, sweet little apartment. One negative; shower soaks all over toilet as well, but very nice shower. Rated 3 out of 5: Good value for what it is, a reasonable sized room with en suite shower room, TV, radio. Only they kind of spoil it by not giving you towels. I had to 'hire' a small towel for ?5, as the housemaid couldn't take the payment the hotel that same day locked me out fo my room until I paid the £5 (drastic action I thought, they could just have left a note or invoice). The place is clean but the basement I was in smelt of damp. Rated 4.7 out of 5: Liked: Clean, excellent accessibility, comfortable Overall: Definitely would stay again Rated 4.5 out of 5: This is basically a studio apartment and so suited our needs very well. We were able to nip down to the local tesco and make our own breakfast and packed lunch. The decor and facilities were very good, with free wifi and washing machines. Very reasonable price considering all this. |
