NAME AND BRANDING CHANGED TO QUALITY CROWN HOTEL KENSINGTON in 2006 Rating out of 10: 5 Date stayed: April 2005 review: The hotel was ok. I would advise anyone to take earplugs with you though, the walls between rooms appear to be made from paper. I stayed for 3 nights in a twin room with my Mother and the room was ok. I think I had an executive room and it was a bit on the small side, but we coped with it. Everything was ok, a bit on the shabby side, but alright for £69 a night. On our trip to London, my Mum was hit by a truck and had to go to hospital (she was very lucky and only ended up with broken ribs and cuts and bruises - watch out crossing those roads people!) and the hotel staff were unbelievably unhelpful. They didn't care about my situation and just wanted me out of my room. So although the room was 'ok' for the price I can't bring myself to recommend this hotel because of the attitude of the staff. I'm sure you can find better, and after being given no help from the staff of the Country Inn, I ended up staying just up the Cromwell Road at the Holiday Inn Forum Hotel and this hotel is superb and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's worth the extra money to get quality service. Hope that helps anyone make up their mind about this hotel. All in all it's a cheapish hotel in London, in an ok area (I didn't worry about walking down the road to get back after late shows) with an ensuite. The staff are unhelpful and you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. |
