My partner and I stayed in the hotel for the long weekend that we were in London. As he had never been to London before we wanted somewhere centralised and it was another member of my family who chose the hotel. in total there were 6 of us - 3 couples. The welcome was weak by the staff at the reception desk however the porter service was excellent, the young man we spoke to was always cheerful, was actually English - somewhat of a rarity. He helped us sort our laptop in the lobby, to get the best routes of the underground and was in brief a true and charming professional.
My partner is French and was surprised by the communal bathrooms, this didn't stop him from taking a bath for almost an hour! The water pressure was amazing in the showers, washing away the stress of travel etc. The bathrooms like the bedrooms were old, but very clean. Our room was a double, the bedding clean as were the towels and the room in general. breakfast was typical English fare but as my partner said you get what you pay for and it starts off the day. A good choice of hot English breakfast or cereals and some dried fruits. If you ask nicely they will get you some fresh toast!
All in all for location, cleaniliness and service I would reccommend this hotel. Indeed I intend to stay there again early in the New Year!

I have been to London several times over the years, but found this trip particularly packed, we stayed at the county hotel - the location was reasonable centre (close to underground & bus routes), the beds were comfy, the rooms were of a fine size & the breakfast was yummy. We visited several attractions some that I have not been to before & some that I have visited in the past, most of these attractions I booked online as this saved money & in some cases priority passes were available. The attractions we visited were London dungeons, Madame Tussauds, London Bridge experince & London tombs, Tower Bridge, London Eye & London Sealife Aquarium.

review: Stayed 3 nights and found the hotel real value for money. Ok there is room for modernisation, but the room was warm and comfortable important as the weather was very cold. Breakfast offered a good choice with as much as you wanted to eat. Staff were all polite and helpful, I'd stay again.

review: Very good value - you don't expect brilliance at that price and you don't get it.
I have actually considered moving into this hotel long term rather than getting a flat next time I need to be in 'town' for 6 months.

review: The bedroom was a shock to the system, had needed an upgrade many years ago. Old bedcovers, smelt horrible. I had been asked if I wanted a non smoking room of course I would have. When we left we smelt horrible of smoke. The tiny bedroom was an L shape, with 2 singles, one hidden & tucked round a corner. Very old sash windows, very dangerous, not fit for children. Dirty, not daily dirt, old dirt. Bathrooms left from night until morning swimming in eater with soaked towels in the water on floor. It made us feel sick.
Breakfast not too bad but we were not convinced of any hygiene. The latts in the dining rooms were thick with dust, breakfast table had been used but not cleaned.
Stay at your own risk.
