Not prepared to take a chance on catching the last easyJet flight of the day to Glasgow after coming in from Lyon, we had opted for the Days Inn. We were lucky we did, for the easyJet connection from France was late, and we would not have made it back to Scotland that night. I had done a "recce" at Stansted before the outbound journey to Lyon, and saw that the Days Inn shuttle bus left from bay 3, and was easy to find, being just 50 yards or so beyond the rail link. The bus leaves at 15 minutes past the hour and 15 to, and is free on the way to Bishops Stortford. A cheery Brazilian receptionist greeted us on arrival and within minutes we were on our way to our room on the ground floor. We were very happy with it. No hint of luxury, true, but at ?49 for the night we did not expect to be pampered. The accommodation was clean and tidy. Think Travelodge, but a shade better. Not much more information can I impart. The TV worked, the shower was hot and piercing, and the bed very comfortable indeed. We had no complaints whatseover regarding our first Days Inn experience. We had booked the shuttle for 6.30 the following morning, and it arrived bang on time. By 6.40 we were back at Stansted Airport, and were more than happy to stump up ?4 (plus tip) for the two fares. If you are considering an overnight stay near the airport, give the hotel some thought. We found it cosy and comfortable. Yes, we felt we were quids in at the Days Inn.
