I was initially unsure about this hotel and its location as we were attending an evening show at the o2. It was a really good price compared to the ones in docklands which I have stayed in before. But it was fantastic, couldn't have chosen better! Lovely hotel, great location, surrounded by really nice bars and restaurants. Leafy location right on the park, and free parking onsite. Great for the o2 - you could choose from the Thames clipper, cab or station to reach venue. We took a cab - £10 each way - bargain! Booked it from hotel and booked return from inside o2, was back after show, in hotel within 10 mins!! Really really impressed cant fault it and will definitely stay again - really great for sightseeing in Greenwich also.
Nothing! If I had to make a comment, its a bit difficult to get too, due to all the one way roads around it, so leave plenty of time to find it - suggest looking a Google earth street level before you set off to give you a better idea on location.

Plenty to do for all ages. Hotel well placed for every thing. Lots of good bars and restaurants. Pity we couldn't see the Cutty Sark, not due to open until 2012. Will have to go back

Myself and partner stayed at the Devonport Hotel to attend a wedding at the nearby Royal Naval College. Overall it was one of the better hotel choices we have made and I would rate it as excellent. When we arrived we knew that we would not make the evening meal included in the deal because of the wedding and asked to swap for a lunch instead. The staff were happy to do this and did not make a fuss at all and what was an even surprise was the high standard of our lunch. It wasn't Michelin quality but it was hot, tasty and plentiful. Later when I arrived back at the hotel feeling more than a little merry with two wedding guests that were not staying at the hotel and at an ungodly hour, the barman was more than happy to re-open the bar and serve us some more drinks and chat with us even though we were probably talking utter nonsense. The room was spotless too and a reasonable size. Lastly the location is perfect - right next door to the beautiful Greenwich Park and a stones throw from the shops, bars, market and restaurants of Greenwich. In conclusion we didn't have any gripes at all and would single the genuinely friendly and helpful staff for praise.

You are just a few metres from the Greenwich Meridian surrounded by parkland, wonderful old naval buildings and a short walk form the Thames and Cutty Sark. For Canary Wharf or Central London it is ideal. For the latter get the high speed ferry into town. Lots of tourist type eating places nearby and excellent museums.
The hotel is stuck in a one way system so, if you use GPS be sure to put in the street number to get the right approach.
The hotel is very clean and practical. We asked for a third bed in the room for our daughter and it was already prepared - a first in our travelling.
Breakfast was enlightened by Everton who gives everybody a warm greeting and makes sure that they have everything they need.
As a photographer I loved the black and white photos that they have around the walls.
This is one of the few hotels we would keep on our list for future travel.

We booked a special deal through De Vere hotels and stayed here with our two young children. At check-in the member of staff was very friendly and helpful. We were delighted with our room.
The hotel has a brilliant location and we enjoyed visiting the Maritime Museum and Observatory, we also found some lovely child friendly pubs close by for lunch.
We travel alot and have stayed in many hotels around the world and this hotel is great, we will definitely return to Devonport House in the future!
PS. My husband was particularly pleased with the free Wi-Fi and parking :)

Stayed for 3 nights for London sightseeing and Peter Kay at the o2. A little hard to find but this in only due to the one way system. Didn't eat there however the position is excellent, 2 minutes walk to Cutty Sark DLR and 4 minutes to Thames Clipper. Our room was of good size on second floor, good size bathroom with shower over bath. Very comfy Sealy bed, but surprised this was 4'6"! Greenwich has lots to offer but we had no time at the weekend to take advantage of this and Monday morning was a bit dead! Staff very helpful and friendly. After Peter Kay obviously there was a massive queue for the Tube but waited just 2 minutes for the number 188 bus and were back in the hotel just 35 minutes from the end of the show, bus stopped right outside the hotel.
Would not hesitate in staying there again, o2 or not as the commute to Central London was fast and cheap.

Liked: Great location, easy to get to from DLR. Rooms were great.
Disliked: Main areas were very busy and not very inviting.
Overall: The place felt like a Conference Centre first and a Hotel as an afterthought. There seemed to be lots of people rushing about and we felt 'in the way' at reception. The rooms were of a good size and well furnished, very comfortable. We had a drink in the bar in the evening - it was OK, but a bit like a common-room. Breakfast was fine and checkout no problem. Staff were courteous. On the whole, fine for business travellers for one or two nights, but you wouldn't recommend it for families, there's no facilities for children. We enjoyed Greenwich and would probably return as leisure travellers, but would stay somewhere a bit more 'hotel like'

Very nice hotel in good location. Bus's within five mins and trains and river boats are within ten mins walk. The Thames clipper is ideal for getting into central London. The views from Greenwich observatory are worth seeing and everything is free! We were told the maritime museum was worth a visit but ran out of time. If going to o2 the bus is best (no 188) it stops just round the corner from hotel. Enjoy. We did!.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 :
Whilst the hotel reception and rooms were clean with adequate facilities, the fact that there is no restaurant is a major issue. There is a very small bar, but it took on average 4 to 5 minutes wait before someone attended the bar to serve you.<br />A four star hotel at ?124.00 per night, excluding breakfast, and you pay extra for parking. Your food is out of a plastic pack that you warm up yourself in a microwave! I will not stay there again.
