| Rated 5 out of 5: With so many hotels to choose from in London, which do you go for? We love the beautiful Georgian buildings in London - after all, this is one of the aspects of the city that make it unique - so what better than to stay in a beautiful residential-looking house off Cadogan Gardens nr Sloane Sq. This place really is a home away from home. From the elegant furnishings to the warm and welcoming staff; the cosy (not by size but general feel) and homely bedrooms, I cannot wait to go back. Things to note: there is no restaurant or bar but they do serve a beautiful breakfast and they also provide complimentary tea and coffee every afternoon at 4pm and champagne every evening at 6pm - the little touches huh! Rated 4 out of 5: The location of this hotel suited my purpose. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and the staff were attentive. Style wise it is a bit old fashioned and in need of refurbishment - with a special mention for the televisions - which must date back to the last century!! Internet connection also dodgy. However, as a female travelling alone I would stay here again. Not sure about the 5* though. Rated 4.8 out of 5: This is a most special place because of its authentic quality. The staff was professional, helpful and friendly. The location was convenient. The atmosphere warm and welcoming. We felt at home. The size of the hotel provided a personal, warm quality that a larger hotel can not. The library, sitting salon, and garden were inviting. The service was excellent. I would return again and again. We loved our stay at the Draycott and would recommend it to our friends without hesitation. They might want to clean the common areas so that stains and marks are not as evident as they were: E.G. carpeting and rugs A Draycott Hotel guest rated the hotel 4.9 out of 5 and commented: Luxury without pretension; feeling of calmness not sure if there was a breakfast room or not! Overall: To be honest I came across this hotel which was slightly outside my business allowance as all other hotels were full and I felt able to spend a little extra. The description (and reviews) interested me as I have spent too many nights in dreary rooms, and the boutique style of hotels currently popular have too much of the Emperors' Clothes about them where style is all and substance very little. I lioked the low key but obviously caring atmosphere. I loved the little touches such as name on door and personal note welcoming me to the room rather than that annoying message displayed on the TV screen you get (again) too often. In other words I felt that I was a valued customer and not just a body on the bed. |
