| Rated 3.5 out of 5 : I could live with the very small room, as the fixtures and fittings were excellent...fabulously clean, high quality with a superb shower (and lovely shower gel). But the heating was uncomfortably hot, couldn't be turned down. The window couldn't be opened at all, so it was unbearably stuffy. A great nights sleep didn't happen because I was ridiculously hot. Rated 4 out of 5 : I had to attend a last minute business meeting in London and booked this hotel due to the excellent price (£50). I have had a lot of experience of hotels in London - not always good - but this was pleasant, clean and the staff were charming including the east European waitress asking "breakfast for cooking?" on my arrival in the dining room. The cooked breakfast was individually cooked and could not be faulted. I would baulk at paying the advertised £180 rate however!. Rated 3.4 out of 5 : The location of the hotel is good. It's close to a couple of underground stops and also close to the centre of London. It's very expensive for what is provided, but I think London is expensive anyway. I travel in Europe several times a year, and the rooms are modern, and clean compared to some although its certainly no 4 star hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the young lady at reception that a tour company had called the hotel to confirm a tour we had booked to Stonehenge the following day. She told us she informed the company we were not staying at the hotel, because she didn't check the reservations and didn't recognize the name. I asked if she would mind calling the company back to inform them we were indeed staying at the hotel, and to pick us up for the tour. She told me that we could call from the room, and we would be billed for the call. This is pretty much the type of service you can expect here. The breakfast staff, was polite but I'm sure there are many hotels in the area that provide better service. Rated 4 out of 5 : This hotel has a great location . Room was clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Room nicely decorated with LCD TV but quiet small but it is normal for London. Could do with double glazed window. Rated 3 out of 5 : I stayed at this hotel with my teenage daughter for 4 nights on the ground floor (room 205) which was right behind the reception. So you did here some noise from there. Window looked out on a wall and there were lots of pigeons hiding there making a lot of noise in the morning and the window was full of bird droppings. Not a very nice site and not very hygienic. It was a small room with a double bed that was okay. Small bathroom but with good shower!! Unfortunately no wifi access in this room. Then my mother came and we moved to a triple room with 3 single beds (room 305). Right behind a fire door everyone had to go through so this made quite a bit of noise when people came in late or left early in the morning. Wifi access was good here. Bathroom was fine. Not a really large room but fine for the 3 of us for 3 nights. Reception area is small. It has a computer you can use. Breakfast room is really really small and if you are unlucky (we were once) you have to wait in a queue to get seated. Simple breakfast with rolls/croissants that aren't freshly baked. How difficult can it be to offer freshly baked bread??? They ran out of jam on Sunday and as Monday was Bank Holiday new jam didn't arrive until Thursday morning!!! I find this very bad. But if you look for a cheap hotel at a central location then this is a perfect hotel. I didn't expect much so it met my expectations. Shops, restaurants are nearby and Queensway and Bayswater Underground stations are at a 5 minutes walk. Rated 4.4 out of 5 : Liked: Excellent - clean and comfortable. Good value breakfast. Disliked: Corridor carpet rather tatty Overall: Excellent Rated 3.4 out of 5 : Liked: Hotel was clean & staff at reception were very helpful. Disliked: Breakfast room was small and felt crowded with only a small number of guests in it. A table for two would only be adequate for one person. Overall: Room was small with an outlook of back yards Rated 3.5 out of 5 : The room was very clean, modern, well decorated and comfortable with a superb en-suite shower room. However it appeared to have been fashioned out of a spare broom cupboard in the attic, being so small that it wasn't possible to open the wardrobe door fully due to the bed being in the way, and the bed being pushed up against the full-length window. There were also 3 steps in the middle of the room. I couldn't fault the quality, but this alleged "double room" made me laugh out loud when |
