| Rated 4.5 out of 5: Booked The Dukes for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and were very happy with our choice. We do not stay at a lot of 5 Star Hotels so I do not know how it compares with others. We had breakfast and an afternoon tea both of which were wonderful, they even threw in a free glass of champagne for us. The staff could not have been more helpful and the whole experience was a pleasure. Old England quaintness at its best. We did not use the Health/Treatment rooms and did spend a lot of time outside the Hotel. The martinis are meant to be something special but again we did not try the bar and not being cocktail experts probably. Rated 5 out of 5: The most friendly and helpful service ever. The location couldn't be better close to Jermyn street shops, Trufitt & Hill, Lock & sons and all superb pubs so close by. The martinis at the bar and atmosphere in the tea garden are superb. This was the second stay at the Dukes and we will be back for sure. They made us feel welcome and our wedding stay special. Love my wife, London and the Dukes! Rated 4.8 out of 5: Dukes Hotel is perfectly located in what we think is the most ideal part of London for both business and pleasure. The hotel is well-appointed and very helpful. Our room was located in such a way that we had splendid quiet at night, a rare experience in central London. The hotel is very elegant and thoroughly "British." We also like that Dukes is relatively small and thus very personal. All of the staff went out of their way to be helpful to us. One must be prepared for rooms and bathrooms that are somewhat small, but we spent little time in the room and found that in exchange for the marvellous location, it was worth it. Rated 5 out of 5: This is a wonderfully traditional and prestigious hotel located in a quiet cul-de-sac where access to all the familiar west end sights and shops can be reached on foot. A lot of history associated with this hotel is conveyed to the guests through tastefully designed interiors and by the genteel service of the hotel staff. We really hope to visit again soon. Our hotel room had the same quality: panelled woodwork, marble bath room, and traditional chintz light restricting drapes across the windows. Given 5 out of 5 by a Dukes Hotel guest: Decided to have a couple of days away in London, to cheer ourselves up in a miserable January! The Dukes hotel was a beutifully elegant hotel, that added glamour and panache to a great weekend in the capital. The location is fabulous for busy weekend, yet provides a stylish relaxing sanctuary after the hustle of the London streets! Really thought the staff could not have tried any harder to ensure your every wish was catered for and I look forward to returning again later in the year & sampling those Martinis once again. Rated 5 out of 5: Dukes is the perfect location for a weekend of fun in the West End - you can walk everywhere and all the buildings around it are so pretty, we wandered up Bond Street to Oxford Street for some shopping and lunch. Then down Jermyn St to Leceister Square for the cinema. The concierge recommended a booked a fabulous restaurant for dinner nearby. The team on reception were great - very helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable, particularly the bath. Our only negative point was that the we didn't realise the complimentary chocolates were chocolates as they were wrapped in a plain white box that looked like it was part of the stationery! We had a memorable stay and would defaintely return - highly recommend. Rated 4 out of 5: Clean and well presented Staff, close to the venue of business. Small rooms, bar closed early Rated 5 out of 5: A small country house hotel with excellent quality and services levels. Perfect quiet location in Mayfair. Rated 4 out of 5: Great hotel. V. cool location. Quick access to all major attractions, shopping etc. Great martinis in coctail bar, highly recommended. Restaurant was a bit disappointing in general, however, terrific staff and servcie made it better. Would definately stay there again. |
